Cbz40 Post Game Thread | Dallas Cowboys 10 Denver Broncos 17 FINAL

Quarterback Coach, I see you've kept your sense humor. Good for you. I'm a little numb right now. I guess laughing is better than crying.

Hard to argue against....and what's more frustrating is watching young pups like Ryan, Flacco and Sanchez doing so well....so quickly.

These guys are young and they have the special factors you look for in franchise QB's. Tony is not playing well and I'm afraid the pressure he is feeling will not make him play any better. Man; is TR the guy to get us to the next level?

Frankly, it seems he has reached his potential and I doubt if he gets much better.

well this is probably the most upset i've been in a long time. not just b/c of how we lost, but b/c of who we lost too b/c i hate the donkeys with a passion.

i will, however, try to be calm with my points on this game.

this game reminded me a lot of the giants game with a lower score. we were in position to win the game and give it away in the end.

the key to this game was missed opportunities:

Ware causes a fumble to begin the 2nd half, then we give them the interception (regardless who was at fault, the bottomline is they got the pick)

we give them the ball on the fumble, and then somehow Spencer turned into a ghost so the ball can go through him to get to Moreno

then untimely, and in some cases, head-scratcher penalties:

i'm thinking #1 about the outside run by Choice but was called back on a "hold" by Bennett.....still can't see how that was a hold.

i will give Denver credit for coming to play, but they did not earn this win to the extent it will be made out to be. they did make some good plays, but we made a lot of crappy plays this afternoon.

on a good note we were getting pressure at times (which we were told Denver doesn't allow).

speaking of which, does Ware have to get gutted and shot in order for the o-line to get a foul called on them? i saw him getting held, hands all over his face, tripped (they did actually call that one).

and i know people are still going to be all "why doesn't he have sacks?" but he would be blasting QBs if not for getting mauled everytime. and his pressure helped the other guys get sacks.

my last point tonight, emotion. i'm sure a lot of you heard them talking about how Dawkins after we got up 10-0 was in the face of their team, and they started to step up. i don't see emotion on this team unless we've just made a play.

the most emotion i saw tonight was from Barber, Choice, and Brooking, and that was all. i'm a Romo supporter, but as the leader of the team he needs to show some more fire instead of sitting on the bench shaking his head.

that ends my rant for today.

5-11 and I'm being generous.

Look at the schedule.

I doubt we beat KC next week.

U think that's being generous? I'm as down as anyone can be right now, but to say u think that they'll only win like 2 more games (since 3 more wins is "being generous") is ridiculous.

What a huge, horrible loss. I can't even eat dinner...

Well, after only 4 weeks, I have to admit I was wrong about a lot of things.

1) I predicted 11 or 12 wins this year. I had very realistic expectations that we would be 5-0 going into the bye week. Now we will either be one game above .500 or one below. At this point, I would not be surprised in the least if we lay another egg next week in Kansas City. Right now, I see us going 7-9 or 8-8 with an outside chance of 9-7. We've got one more game in the easiest portion of our scheduel and then it gets tough. If we can't beat Denver or the Giants on our own field, we can't win the really tough games.

2) I, along with many other fans, have over-estimated how good Romo actually is. Yes, he can make outrageous plays, but he is not and never will be consistent. Today's loss is on his shoulders. I'm not sure whether he can be held directly responsible for the two turnovers, but he ultimately made them. He was blindsided on the fumble, but he should feel the pressure at this point in his career. I'm not sure whether he or Austin were responsible for the miscommunication on the int., but it was a critical point in the game and the play came after we called a damn timeout. You'd think the QB and his WRs would be on the same page. Guess not. I'm tired of Romo saying after every poor performance that he just has to work harder and get better. I'm not sure what I want to hear from him, but the same ole thing is getting old.

3) While our defense certainly not be held responsible for today's loss (they actualy played well), they do not normally step up when the game is on the line. They basically didn't give up a TD all game (Denver's first was on our offense), they give up a huge play to eventually lose the game. It's painfully obvious we only have two playmakers on defense (Ratliff and Ware) and Ware is average right now.

4) I thought (hoped) we wouild be a smarter team this year. We're not. Turnover and stupid penalties kill us game after game. Samd today. We have very stupid players and an even dumber coaching staff. I'm all for cleaning house when it comes to the coaching staff. Why in the hell should be keep any of them?

5) I thought going into the season we would be fine with our WRs. I was wrong again. We do not have one WR capable of changing a game. Our receivers are either slow or simply can't get open. They've had one good game so far this year and that was against a terrible defense in Tamps Bay. We can't stretch the field and it's killing us.

6) Even though we've ran the ball well this year, our staff didn't have the stomach to stick with it today. Denver was playing good defense, but we just don't have the patience or stomach to continue pounding the ball unless things are going well.

I'm tired of continually being disappointed by this team. I've been a fan all my life and I turn 47 in less than two weeks. I've never been as disappointed in a Dallas team as I've been the past 4 years of so. That includes the terrible teams of the late 80's. Back then we just didn't have any talent. This team doesn't have any brains or heart. Big difference.

Strahan said funnel Romo and keep in the pocket and pressure up the middle and he will fold. It was a replay of the same stategy that beats us time and time again. Romo cannot adjust and make the plays in the middle of the field consistently. It really is that simple...

I've always wondered about Romo being able to "get it" for a lack of better words. After todays debacle I'm leaning towards him being another flash in the pan who will never able to put it all together. The fumble deep in our territory hurt us,however those types of plays happen. The pick he threw to Bailey has me wondering a little bit,was Austin running the wrong route or did Romo make a bad read. The thing that bothers me about Romo is his awareness at times, its like he is in another world. Some of the sacks that came today were from holding the ball to long and were a result of poor pocket awareness.I don't know that Kitna is the answer, but I do know that this is a pivotal year for Romo.Either Romo has what it takes or this organization needs to start looking in another direction.

Craig

predicting seven wins. All you "fans" that jumped him should be ashamed. The man was calling it like he sees it. If we play like today I'm thinking about five wins: it's entirely possible.

the way our D played, regardless of the little BS Newman gave up, we should have been up by 14 or 21 at that point

the way Romo is playing is what you want from your QB, dont try and force it, which he didnt, the int he threw was inexperience by a WR, Austin, not were he was supposed to be.....the behind throw to Williams, if he would have placed it in stride, Dawkins was closing, so either williams would have really got rocked, or it would be a pick....

Either way, watching the game, and them showing replays, no one is getting open, Williams when i see him running routes, hes not convincing, and he looks like he has cement, or weights on his legs, no exaggeration...that little BS to Hurd, was luck, nobody was open to begin with, so Romo had to buy extra 5 secs just to find a guy, we have no one capable outside of witten, and Felix jones, who can catch and run and get open, and you cant throw to your backs and TE all day....

We need better WR's, i was 1 of the guys that stood up for this group, today it showed i was wrong, Roy is a bust, wasnt worth the money, or trade, hes a number 2 or 3....Miles just isnt ready....Crayton is average...hurd, isnt ready as well...that leaves Witten..lets get real

Atleast with TO we made defenses honest, sure he was a big mouth, drop the ball kinda guy, but a D respected him, and made it possible for others to get open

im still a big fan, and will stick by our team, but i give up on the season as far as playoffs go, my job asks me to come in and if i want extra hours, i saw no cause i want to watch a Cowboys game, theres nothing to get my hopes up for, our WR's wont get faster and start mking plays in 1 week....it wont happen, Buc's tricked us with blown coverage

i hope they prove me wrong....but our WR's are our downfall....im still behind Romo, and the Defense

To Wade and Red: NANANANNANANANA, HEY, HEY HEY........GOODBYE......

Doubtful. Red is likely at the top of Jerry's list to replace Doughboy

Too bad ..... I only do it to the negative trolls like you, Bach, and a few of the others that crawl out of the woodwork after every game.

If you do not like it ...... tough.

No just go ahead and shut up, this is the same old putrid retch you normally spew. The fact that more and more people call you out on this should point out that they are right and you are wrong...then again youve proven to not be so quick so i guess it will take a few more.

I can see it now Week 16: cowboy 8-7 playing for nothing...and zrinkill "look at all you haters, you are not real fans, this team is going to the superbowl, im the only real fan left, look at me we are going to the superbowl..." thats you, dumb.

The Cowboys go up 3-0 after a FG and Wade Phillips throws his arms up in the air and starts celebrating? After a 3-0 lead in the 1st quarter? What is wrong this man? He is seriously that goofy to celebrate a 1st qtr FG?

Waiting for the day this clown is gone

Well I can't defend him today that is for sure. However, if you are even half honest you will admit that some of those times Dallas lost over the last few years and you decided to play pin the tail on the Romo, well you would gladly take that back.

You witnessed a true bad game by a QB today. I am not saying this was his first game ever, but this was exhibit A for bad QB play.

You could take many of his previous "bad games" and have him play like that today and we win in a blow out. The problem with Romo haters is you seldomly are honest. You a L in the column and you start hollering at Romo.

I will call a spade a spade. This way beyond terrible.

The only silverlining I can truly see is that we did play hard, and that I honestly think that Wade is pretty much gone.

Fortunately for us, I think there are several good coaches out there to choose from.

This is not a Romo bash thread, but a true question. What is wrong with him? He is off. He has not looked truly sharp yet. Just my take, Garretts offense doesn't seem to be for Romo. I know he has to make the throws, but he sure made them in 07. Just an abberation?

twelve more games my friend. twelve more, and Red too..............
