Don't get me wrong. I'm happy as hell we won and are in the playoffs. I predicted 11-5 with a shot at 12-4 before the season started. I fully expected to beat the Skins. Our D is playing great. I still say our offensive play-calling is going to bite us in the *** if things aren't straightened out. Garrett called a great game last week. He sucked this week. Pure and simple. We beat the Skins because we're a more talented team. We should've beaten them and we did. However, we can't continue to make offensive mistakes if we want to advance deep into the playoffs. We just can't.

I would seriously want to consider using Choice as our short yard back- I think his extra quickness would be better considering our inconsistent O line.

IMO...its a great win, feels good. But it's not the end. There's games still to be played. But very different feel from this team compared to last year ey?

I am hoping after this game that Garrett looks at the film and says "Well I guess on short yardage those plays don't work"

He'll start throwing it on 4th and one, and make all of you very happy with his play calling decisions.

We have a winner. We need to use Felix or Choice. They hit the hole MUCH quicker than Barber and that's the key to short yardage situations. They also have some wiggle to them that Barber doesn't have. I don't see why this seems so complicated to the coaching staff. Barber is stronger? Yes, but when the entire D is playing the run on short yardage strength isn't as important. Getting there quick is.

Outstanding game award:
MVP: Witten. Runners up: Romo, Austin, T-New, Jones, Ratliff.

Downside:
Barber (2 failed 1 yard 4th down conversions, and a failed 3rd down 1 yard conversion.), Roy Williams (Bench him, bench him now, only bring him in when were in the redzone)

At some point you have to quit blaming the coordinator. Those guys up front are an utter failure on short yardage plays, and this is nothing new. Its plagued the team for years.

People want him to stick with the run...they want him to be "creative" and call "trick plays"...they got all that tonight...it just doesnt produce many points

what hole? I havent seen any in any of these failed short yardage plays lately.

It's been an utter failure up front.

Two of the plays it was Barber's fault. He had enough to pick up the 1st.
The other two plays, he had little chance.
But I think Felix Jones or Choice picks up a 1st in 2 of the 4 situations Barber was put in.

A 17pt road win against the Skins is fine. Just fine...especially if you live in the DC area.

There is rarely a big hole on 4th and 1. The back has to squirt through and make a run. It was clearly Barber's fault on a couple of run. He has to plow through full steam ahead.

In short yardage situations, there isn't usually much of a hole. All of the defensive players are crashing down on the line. That's why getting to the line is so important. Get a little daylight and pick up the first down. It isn't about getting 5 yards. It's about getting a yard or less and getting there quick is what it's all about. Surely you guys realize this???

For whatever reason, Barber dances around WAY too much on very short yardage situations. Exactly the opposite of what you have to do. Hit it quick and squirt through for a yard or so. Felix and Choice are much quicker and have some wiggle to them. Barber? Not so much.

I would make Choice the short yardage back.

It has been, and it's been a problem for years now. And it's one of the legitimate complaints from last offseason that was mentioned repeatedly on this board and that we really did nothing at all to address.

I'm still laughing at the seven/eight/nine win season predictions with a healthy Romo.

I am still shocked that anyone thought that 7 or 8 wins was all we'd get, going into the season.

We are so predictably run to Barber in 3rd and 4th and 1, I can't help but think JG didn't want to show any other looks to the Eagles.

Jones and Choice should shoulder the load and give Barber some spot duty and inside the 10. Never run Razorback again.
