Cbz40 Post Game Thread | Dallas Cowboys 17 Washington Commanders 0 FINAL

I liked Chris Collinsworth disgustingly pointing out the Skins fraidy-cat defensive scheme. Good times.

In short yardage situations, there isn't usually much of a hole. All of the defensive players are crashing down on the line. That's why getting to the line is so important. Get a little daylight and pick up the first down. It isn't about getting 5 yards. It's about getting a yard or less and getting there quick is what it's all about. Surely you guys realize this???

ok fine...forget the "hole"...how about just getting some push? they dont even do that.

And Barber doesn't even get to the damn line of scrimmage. He's fairly slow to begin with and he constantly dances around on short yardage carries instead of just turning it upfield. He gives the defense way too much time to get penetration and hit him for a loss or no gain. It has happened over and over and over. We have a trend. How bout an off tackle to Felix?

what hole? I havent seen any in any of these failed short yardage plays lately.

It's been an utter failure up front.

It doesn't help that Barber decides to run into the most plugged up area in the line instead of bounce it to the outside. That last run was particularly atrocious in this regard.

He shouldnt be trying to bounce runs outside in short yardage plays.

Well don't run right into the the pile where everyone is. I don't have my football lingo down so "bounce outside" might have been the wrong term here, but he picked the exact wrong hole to attack on that last run. Just terrible vision on that play.

The defense played great! Jason Garrett is a ******, the score should have been 35-0 but nooo he doesn't know what to call in short yardage.

Definitely. He should have just looked on his sheet for 'short yardage plays that work' instead of running all the ones he chose instead. That way, our knowledgeable fans wouldn't have anything to ***** about.
