Cbz40 Post Game Thread | Dallas Cowboys 20 Philadelphia Eagles 16 FINAL

The call to Miles Austin was right on time. They thought they were gonna shut him out, but he is the real deal. I'll take one catch if it's the game winner. And his YPC must be through the roof. Garrett has so many toys to play with.

One thing that I would change would be more screens, though....
Boy, that WR screen to Ogletree is deadly, though.

see this why we won't draft a WR high unless one drops to us - if we do it will be like the fourt round to return kicks

Ogletree can take Craytons place

Craytons Contract

12/27/2007: Signed a four-year, $14 million contract extension through 2011. The deal included a $6 million signing bonus and contains a $1 million escalator in the final year. 2009: $1.5 million, 2010: $2 million, 2011: $2.5 million, 2012: Free Agent

I definitely wouldnt use the word "great", but when he made em pay, he made em pay big.

Still not enough screens and slants throughout, IMO.

Give him his due. Two good catches and runs. Broke some tackles and set the Cowboys up nice. I believe both were third down catches.

Get Ogletree out there more. I've been saying it for 8 weeks now.

This guy is going to be a star!

Where did those quick throws to the wideouts come from? The ones to Ogletree were particularly effective. And Choice seems to have a handle on the wildcat.

I have to say, I respectfully disagree ... and I've been pretty happy with Garrett this season and think he's been unfairly criticized at times.

The Eagles were blitzing the middle gaps with their linebackers on almost every play ... giving Dallas the perimeter of the defense, and yet he only called one outside pitch, sweep or tosss the entire night (the play where Felix kneed Samuels in the head). It was inexplicable, especially when you have a weapon like Felix who can bust one of those for 70 yards on any play when he gets the ball in space (especially when the linebackers are blitzing and can't persue).

The defense allowed the offense the luxory of sticking of not having to force anything until they finally hit a big play to Austin ... but I don't know why Garrett seemingly had no answer for Philly's inside blitz plays when it's been the staple of their defense for the last 10 years.

Yep...no reason that we didn't run one in the second half though....In fact, I can't remember one since that one....not that there wasn't one....just can't remember it.

eating some crow on him

he called a great game

alot of safe plays against an aggressive Eagle's D
Agreed. I kept waiting for a silly play call.

Btw, did he call any "wildcat" in the 2nd half? It worked very well w/ Choice in the 1st half. I'm curious how well it'd work w/ Felix.

Lots of change ups in there and STICKING WITH THE RUN there on the last drive until he *HAD* to throw. Good job tonight.

Pass the crow this way

Anyone know of any good Philly message boards I could go see? Love the meltdowns.

He needs to start dialing up the run A LOT more. He is too engrossed with instant gratification.

Im also waiting for the screens to felix jones.

And maybe a reverse wr option by Patrick Crayton.

That's worth keeping him. He's a valueable asset.

I was surprised to hear that Wade is 28 - 12 since he took over the Cowboys.

Very interesting statistic.

What he lacks in aggresiveness, he is surely making up in game plan.

more Victor Butler

that is all

he's made triple the plays that Spencer has

^^^

I was watching the game at Twin Peaks and told my buddies when Spencer went down that it was ok because Spencer would come in and rush well... might be able to do nothing else but he could rush.... Lo and behold 2 plays later he trips up McNabb who had nothing but turf in front of him for a huge stop and drive killer.

I think Spencer has a place on this team but I do not think it is as an every down guy. Spencer needs to come out on obvious pass rush downs.

Crayton Stays one more year because he is a good Pro plays well in the slot and his overall cost is cheap and he plays special teams even if we draft a wr high

Hurd is gone at the end of the year period end of story

Austin will be kept Olgtree moves up and replaces Hurd and rotates in with Crayton etc

Perhaps I should give credit to the Defense for not allowing Romo the time to get him the ball down field, but 6 yards per catch just doesnt do it for me.(even tho two of those were converting/trying to convert on 3rd down)

Well Witten did convert like 3-4 TDs. On the series just before the half, Romo did miss a wide open Witten, but that was do to intense pressure from the Eagles pass rush.
