I agree that numbers were a factor, but Thornton himself said he still was trying to learn the defense and McClain has played ahead of him all preseason.

I don't think it's a big deal because both he and McClain will get plenty of snaps at the 1-tech.

yea he is healthy so he played. 6 dt's on the team and 4 didn't play. Mcclain has been the starter the whole time.

Living in Seattle, I was not fortunate enough to see this evenings game. HOWEVER... what I have seen from Thornton in the first 3 preseason games has led me to believe he has the ability to be the best interior DL we have had since J. Ratliff in his prime.

Other than the fact that in 4 years he has never come remotely close to Ratliff's sacks or pressure numbers, sure, run with that.

I've been saying it all pre-season...He's complete garbage. He isn't a NT that's gonna hold the point of attack. He's not quick enough to be a 3 tech either...Everytime I watch him..he's getting abused. Jerry- if he is smart...cuts him... saves 6 million.
