Cedric Thornton Underperforming?

I've been saying it all pre-season...He's complete garbage. He isn't a NT that's gonna hold the point of attack. He's not quick enough to be a 3 tech either...Everytime I watch him..he's getting abused. Jerry- if he is smart...cuts him... saves 6 million.

Thought he'd be a decent upgrade. This summary is concerning!

Y'all worry about the most irrelevant things. worry about that scrub lb group outside of Sean Lee and the edge rushers. Thornton knows how to play football

Our DT rotation should be avg to decent. Our DEs are below average with the one exception of Dlaw.
ive been noticing less posters sticking up for the " young guys". It's time we bring in a vet.

Please do not edit this thread title. I want everyone to know Zordon misspelled underperforming.
Not everyone is as familiar with that word as you....

Sorry... couldn't help myself...

Who are you releasing from the DL for a vet? Ryan Russelll, Tapper, Jack Crawford?

I think Thornton just needs more reps and time to adjust to our 4-3. Evidently, playing in the 3-4 in Philly didn't do him any favors. The FO saw fit to allot him $6 mil, so he's not going anywhere. Given time, I could easily picture him coming into his own. I think Clarence Hill is simply jumping to conclusions a bit too quickly.

Brady played the entire 1st half against the Gents and looked awful. He might be our backup by Sunday night!! ;)

Russell is a JAG. When are people going to realize that?

If I could pick up a productive vet at DE, I'd drop Russell faster than you could spell his name.

As we have seen earlier in this thread, spelling is a problem in some cases. Russell could be here for a decade in that case.

Absolutely. He just looks awful on gamedays.

Thornton will be fine, he is learning a complete new system. and he will be part of a 4 man rotation. So it's not like they all will be 3 down type guys all the time.
He was out there because they needed bodies to play, as well he needed the reps. Maybe he really wanted to be out there to get those reps.

Russelll and Mcadoo. But for sure Russell, he's been terrible. If I find out that tapper has some sort of degenerative condition, I might let him go too. He hasn't practiced or played, then again I might put him on IR and free up a extra spot in addition to cutting Ryan big baller Russell

Meanwhile, the media thinks Philly's DLine is going to be the next coming of the 4 Horsemen.

Fletcher Cox is going to tear it up in the 4-3.

Every year the media thinks something in Philly is the next coming of something....then all we see it's just a big dump and flush.....:lmao2:.....

Hard to say as a fan on tv. I would have to watch the whole game and single him out for an eye test, which isn't easy to do in preseason.

Imagine how difficult it is for a veteran, practically guaranteed a roster spot, to give regular season intensity for a preseason game.

We could have had Cox, we could have had Bennie Logan. We chose Claiborne and Escobar.
