CeeDee is trying a new method to eliminate drops

I saw a short on this last night. The narrator presented it as Lamb was doing this to replicate having the sun in his eyes and was sending a message to Jerry.

He also included a still shot of Witten doing the same thing years ago.
That narrator was saying they either out of a lack of knowledge or to capitalize on stadium sun drama.

It’s actuality visual occlusion training.

It helps a player build better anticipation skills and process visual cues when theee may be distractions or limited field of vision

Appreciate his effort to approve, but it's more of a mental issue with him. My $34M WR needs to figure it out.....fast

Some guys will put a blinder over one eye or goggles that flash light in their eyes

So we're teaching pople how to catch footballs? NOW?

I took the narrator's narration with a giant grain of salt. I mean he's got to generate those comments somehow. Just thought it was relevant because of the Witten precedence.

I do that while driving sometimes. Good practice to help pick out the deer jumping out in front of me.

Well, he wants to work on the drops

There are various methods to work on that

This is one of them.

I know you’re not suggesting that once a player makes it to the NFL they should stop trying to improve.

Last year Lamb was 36th in the league in pass dropped percentage.

He wasn't even the highest Cowboy - Turpin was.

You're comparing an 'elite' WR1, to JAGs across the league looking at drops at like that.

I'd compare him to his WR1 peers, because for a WR1 and the volume of targets he gets when healthy, those these numbers are concerning.

If he didn't miss so many games, he'd likely be #1 on the WR1 Drops Leader Board below. I made a li' chart to get a more granular look, considering his pedigree as a top-paid, elite WR1. Have a look:

Top 5 WR1 Drop Leaders (2025 Regular Season):

RankPlayerTeamTotal Drops2025 Regular Season Stats
1Jerry JeudyCleveland Browns10 drops50 rec, 602 yards, 2 TD
2Amon-Ra St. BrownDetroit Lions10 drops117 rec, 1,401 yards, 11 TD
3Brian Thomas Jr.Jacksonville Jaguars10 drops48 rec, 707 yards, 2 TD
4Courtland SuttonDenver Broncos8 drops74 rec, 1,017 yards, 7 TD
5CeeDee LambDallas Cowboys8 drops75 rec, 1,077 yards, 3 TD

8 drops with only 75 receptions is not good for CD. I expect this not to be an issue this year. If it is, Jerry might sign Pickens long-term and move CD. Interesting season this is.
Yeah someone is about to get their feelings hurt and it might be Lamb. I hope it's not. I just trust him more than Pickens.

While I agree to an extent he didn't miss that many games how many was it? 2 or 3? Probably gets to 10 or 11 drops which isn't good. Disappointing to see him with these guys though. Sutton is a solid 2, Brian Thomas has yet to take off, Jeudy is a bust...Amon Ra St Brown is a beast but I mean he made up for it with 1400 yards and 11 Tds'.
