News: CeeDee Lamb as our PR?

https://www.dallascowboys.com/news/st-position-breakdown-2020

This article is about Lamb possibly being our PR to contribute in other ways.
I am all for it.

Pollard KR
Lamb PR
I guess I’m so used to Garrett and the other coaches protecting certain players that causes me to take a step back. We always heard best players will play, but then we held ourselves back.

If that’s what MM and the coaches want, so be it. CeeDee could be dynamic. Or he could be the fair-catch rapper, Cole Beasley.

The risk to injury is more probable to the the guys not returning the kicks - that why you saw some rule changes to the blocking schemes.
I believe injuries to returners is pretty low...again to me, you cant play scared.
And its not just about a "10 yard gain", I remind you of the Rams game a few years ago and how Ryan Switzer effected that game.

I'd rather have another player returning punts and kicks is all. Not playing scared.

Whatever Fassell wants, MM will give him.

Deion did it.. Lamb should too. One of the reasons Jason Garrett got fired is because he played scared special teams and had Austin Fair catch with an opportunity to win a game. Don't play scared.
Dion was a great return guy
Lamb is not in the same galaxy as dion

Personally, I loathe the idea of risking injury returning punts for our first rounder, Lamb. Rather see Wilson or Lewis.

It was mentioned back in April about Lamb being PR. https://insidethestar.com/could-wr-ceedee-lamb-return-punts-for-cowboys-in-2020/
Injury doesn’t scare me
I want to best return guys returning
We don’t know who will be on the roster to start the season but right now lamb is not the best punt returner and pollard is not the best kick returner

First round pick, rated a top 6 player in the draft. Would you have advocated Zeke returning kicks his rookie year?

If he were good at it, yea, but his 29 career return yards at Ohio State didn't give me that impression :p

But seriously, Tyrek Hill continued to return punts up until this year, despite putting up back to back seasons above 1150 yards. Desmond King continued to return punts despite being an All Pro CB, Jarvis Landry returned punts while putting up consecutive 1000 yard seasons, and did not stop until he was traded to Cleveland. I know these guys weren't first round picks, but they continued to return punts after exceeding the value of first round picks.

I don't agree with any of it. I wouldn't risk it. Need to find a viable return guy so you don't have to use your key starters.

He's a rookie WR behind 2 receivers who put up 1000 yards last year. If him getting injured derails our season, then we weren't very good to begin with.

If there is a reason to not use him there, it's because the team doesn't think he'll be a dynamic return man at this level.

Some teams get PR specialists as their returners but the Cowboys don't seem to go for that. Many teams don't allow a top WR to take that risk.

Lamb is more important than Tyreek hill, odell, Antonio brown. Interesting

Don't you know that "it will derail their season if he gets hurt". :lmao::lmao2::lmao2:

Lamb hasn't proved jack in the NFL. Yes he's should be returning kicks.

This is my take on punt or kick returners. It's pretty simple really, and feel free to tell me what I'm missing if anything.

I was a WR/KR/PR growing up. Why? I was lightning fast. Just put your fastest guy that isn't afraid of getting hit back there. He gets a lane, it's over.

Because of what we have at 3rd receiver behind Lamb.
I agree, injury risk is too great.. Dez got injured on some of those punt returns and affected the game because of that, he was not the same WR for the rest of the game. Protect your stars and in this case protect our Lamb the way Mary would protect her Little Lamb:p
