It's an offseason thread.

When it comes to tattoos, too each their own.

"...Skin and flesh fades away where it began back to the earth the color origin of man. So, I write my story on paper, written in the stone, kept in books. As the spirit of the ancients say out loud when you read it..."Made you Look." - (c) 2023

But we're almost all gonna look a little rough when we're older, so it doesn't really matter.
He is just doing what he always does ....... trying to sound superior to everyone else while low key mocking tattoos. His "cultural" comment is really telling.

Do you think it is true when all the psych materials say that wanting/getting tattoos are a symptom of underlying mental illness? It's very well documented, I don't really believe that but maybe at that level there is a little bit? I dunno, just seems overboard.

I can remember when having a tattoo was socially unacceptable and that’s why bikers, for example, had them. Today? Every freaking teenage girl has more than one. In fact, it’s become cliche to have one. You wanna be different in modern times? Don’t follow the crowd and draw on yourself. Everyone is such a follower nowadays. Sheep.

Or don't worry about being cool and do what you want. It's nice work and CD is apparently happy with it. You sound bitter.

Risky Ink: Tattoos May Lead to Body's Overheating

By E.J. Mundell | WebMD
September 30, 2020

Using your body as a canvas for tattoos might come at a price for your health.

New research suggests that all that ink impedes natural sweating -- and that might cause the body to overheat.

The study found that tattooed skin on arms "has reduced sweat rates, and thus potential heat loss capacity, during [whole-body heating], compared to adjacent skin without tattoos."

One dermatologist unconnected to the study said the finding is potentially alarming.

Any tattoo-linked decline in sweating "may have important ramification when patients have fever or illness or are overheated and may have problems with thermoregulation," said Dr. Michele Green, a dermatologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. She believes that "more studies need to be done on this important observation."

I know nothing about tattoos. Serious question. Does it affect how you sweat? Not a small single tattoo but when you have a large area of your body covered like that.

AlI I really know about them is that the chemicals in the ink are extremely dangerous.

Yeah it’s so sick….he had someone draw pictures on himself. So cool and sick bro.
Yeah, an athlete who passed who more than likely was an inspiration to him during his childhood. It’s endearing and quality work. Your sarcasm is unnecessary

Ok good to know your a tattoo guy.

Please explain to me the tattoo thing? What is the allure? Why do you get them?

Serious question, not trying to offend anyone.
I can't explain it well. I've always been fascinated since I was young. It's an art form, a way to express yourself. It's for me and no one else. Im 47 this year and take care of myself but I did them because I wanted them and wanted to enjoy them. Im the type that regrets things I don't do so I would have regretted being old and never have done it.

Everyone has their thing and some do it for fun some for meaning. I have two large pieces that cover my chest and are half sleeves. At the time I didn't go further so I could hide them at work due to stereotypes. I regret that actually.

One themed to my son after he was born and one to my wife when she went through cancer. Each one took roughly 24 hours and are done by reputed artists that I researched and for one even was on a wait-list in another country. Even though there is pain involved if you are into them they can be addictive. I'm not sure anyone can explain it to you for you to understand if it isn't something you are into. Kind of like being into adrenaline activities like car racing motorcycles or skydiving.

lol...sorry brother man, but there is no way that much ink can be removed. Yes, smaller tats can get removed, but not that much. Another thing, he could not possibly have that much done in one setting because of all the swelling and healing. If he did get that whole thing on his back at one time, how does he sleep, on his stomach for a few weeks?
When I was getting mine, each session was 6 to 8 hour long for line work, next time shading then color which left me pretty tired afterwards. Healing for me is usually a week and it feels like a sunburn. Not a ton of swelling or huge amounts of pain after. The harder part would be having someone clean and lotion you for the healing period and wrapping it so your clothes don't get all sticky.

Yes I do ....... full sleeves

Funny how you do not, yet you are commenting on why people get them in the post above.
No
I’m actually asking curiously why you get them. Nothing but rude answers from you.
