I can't explain it well. I've always been fascinated since I was young. It's an art form, a way to express yourself. It's for me and no one else. Im 47 this year and take care of myself but I did them because I wanted them and wanted to enjoy them. Im the type that regrets things I don't do so I would have regretted being old and never have done it.

Everyone has their thing and some do it for fun some for meaning. I have two large pieces that cover my chest and are half sleeves. At the time I didn't go further so I could hide them at work due to stereotypes. I regret that actually.

One themed to my son after he was born and one to my wife when she went through cancer. Each one took roughly 24 hours and are done by reputed artists that I researched and for one even was on a wait-list in another country. Even though there is pain involved if you are into them they can be addictive. I'm not sure anyone can explain it to you for you to understand if it isn't something you are into. Kind of like being into adrenaline activities like car racing motorcycles or skydiving.
No you explained it great. Thank you. I respect your reasons and answer.

All very good ones.

Ok good to know your a tattoo guy.

Please explain to me the tattoo thing? What is the allure? Why do you get them?

Serious question, not trying to offend anyone.
For me its more about art and expression.

Its different for everyone but thats my take on it. They are also highly addicting once you get one lol.

I have zero tattoos. But, if I'm honest, I love the idea of tattoos. If I wasn't afraid it was impolite to ask someone about their tattoos, I'd ask people to hear the stories behind them. Every single one of us has an individual story. Some people have the pages inked into their skin, which is fascinating to me. If I ever thought of something so important to me that I knew I wouldn't ever regret it, I'd probably get one.

a lot of people look like fools throughout their whole lives. what's the difference?
That’s true but I’ve seen some of these tattoos distorted beyond recognition when they’ve put on 60 pounds of fat…..dingys turned into battleships and of course nothing says family moment better than pictures of grandmas cleavage of Tupac tattoos holding the grand baby happens……but like I’ve said, “ to each their own”

With a guy like Lamb its probably an athlete/cultural thing. Some probably think the trashy chicks like it while others probably think it makes them look tough "barbed wire". Others probably think its art. Some get drunk or pressured into it. Then there is always those that think if you say it on your skin that it really means something to them. "Mom" "Baby tattoos" "truth" ect.....ect......

I can only guess as I dont have any.
I regret me tattoo that says "Don't Mess With Me I Am Danerous."

it's the same as the weakminded growing beards because it's a fad or the man bun or dreads. No originality.
