YesCan anyone here imagine a world where Stephen Jones gives Lamb a $140 plus million dollar deal?
Anyone?
Let’s watch these morons destroy his value now.

he will if he wants any type of offense next seasonJerry is NOT giving Lamb 35 mill a year or more. So this will be interesting.
They have "owners meetings" where everything about league operations is discussed. To think they don't discuss these things seems naive. The real issue is the cap as a whole. Every team spreads their money as they see fit. The cap assures everyone of huge profits & players benefit from ever expanding salaries. Ie, there isn't anything to fix from their overall perspective. Middle & lower parts of the roster get underpaid so the big dogs can eat. From a common sense standpoint, it's a problem to pay a lesser player equal or more. Are you suggesting the owners get together and discuss what they can do collectively “to fix it”? If that were legal, which it isn’t, it still would not happen.
Take another look at things like yards per catch that measure efficiency. They are almost identical

Fair argument about CD's other production.https://stathead.com/football/vs/justin-jefferson-vs-ceedee-lamb
If people want to declare Jefferson a better receiver fine.. But looking at the total picture it's clear that Lamb is the better football player. Rushing yards, kick returns, higher catch %, broken tackles all point to a better player overall. Full disclosure I would be happy with either man..
Any changes that involve player compensation have to be agreed upon by the players. The only thing the NFLPA will agree to is a program that benefits the players. The NFL has more teams than the NBA and each team has five times the number of players than an NBA team. NBA players play five times the number of games per season than NFL players. The owners are never going to consider a compensation plan remotely similar to the NBA’s as their league is not remotely similar to the NBA.It needs to be stopped and my hope is they all collectively decide a percentage of cap that is allowed at each position and you cannot pay that position over that.
Or
You do like the NBA and have max contracts that require you to meet certain prerequisites to qualify for said contract.
I’m sure it’s discussed at length. Any changes, however, must be collectively bargained with the players’ union. I’m sure it’s a topic of conversation among union players’ reps, too. They are all free to talk about it amongst themselves. Changes must be mutually agreed upon and ratified by the players. Can’t get around those pesky Federal labor laws. They have "owners meetings" where everything about league operations is discussed. To think they don't discuss these things seems naive. Exactly.....They are almost identical
Exactly .....not to mention the NBA teams can win championships with 2-3 superstars. The rest are role players.......the bottom line, the NBA model would never work in the NFL.Any changes that involve player compensation have to be agreed upon by the players. I guess the question is will he take less than Jefferson and if so, how much less? Probably not much........as a matter of fact, Jefferson could see his numbers go down a bit over the next couple of years with a rookie QB.
Hmmmmmmm…..
So he gets a few million more, does that really strap us from future signingsAt this point would Lamb accept what Jefferson got?
Probably not. Thanks Jerry.

They have almost identical stats over their careerTake another look at things like yards per catch that measure efficiency.
Lamb is a safe bet, he makes our average QB look like a pro bowler. He’s been burned by 2 (Dak and Zeke) and jury is still out on the 3rd (Diggs).
That might be why he’s reluctant.
