Another revised list?

The first Top 32 list originally posted by any member will be counted in the ballot count only. Your original post #9 will be the only one list used in the counting for the final bracket count. Each celebrity listed in post #9 will only receive the points for the particular rank they were given from #1 to #32 in post #9 only.

All of the other Top 32 revised lists created since post #9 will not be used in the ballot count. This means the point values for each celebrity listed by their ranks in post #9 were permanently set in post #9. The point values for each celebrity in post #9 will not change because of any revised lists.

Additionally, all celebrities you have posted since post #9 who are not listed in post #9 will be counted as alternates and assigned 1 point only.

No this was the last list I did a couple days ago before you told me to stop. I last moved up Rose Chin, Leigh, Guzman, Maxx, to the roster. All I did was add pictures to the list and yes this is it.

The fault for the misunderstanding is completely my responsibility. I try being as diplomatically correct in conversations on the board too often when I should be direct and blunt. This is where I should have been clear. You said:

I replied.

Sure. We can lock this thread and start all over again.

Or we can go with lists posted so far, which will hopefully have more members posting their lists, and create ONE bracket from.

And remember, this is an idea thread. My hope is that it will help guide the creation of future bracket threads beyond the first one coming from this thread.

I phrased it that way so it would be understood my answer was no. I created the thread. I wanted it to remain open. I had no intention of closing the thread. Voting is a one time practice. There are not any do-overs if a process should remain fair for all participants. Why would I shutter my own thread to allow one member to redo a list more than once when fellow members understood they could only post one 32-celebrity list one time?

I compounded the problem by signing off on revised lists being posted over and over because I had thought I communicated on several occasions that the extra posted lists would not be factored into the final ballot count. I failed repeatedly to make my point plain. My bad.

Sometimes you can teach an old dog new tricks. And I am definitely getting old!

I always knew you were a man of good taste although there are some on your list that wouldn’t make it to my top 100 but that is neither here nor there

I should recuse myself for trying to be TOO fair.

I did my usual bottom-to-top seeding of my list. As people already know, my opinion of Candice Patton is PRETTY darn high. Even so, I could not be honest with myself and raise her above #9 on my list. My personal pain intensified after updating the official Top 32 list and discovering #9 did not give her enough points to make the final cut!

Who knows? Maybe another member, who has been lurking so far, will throw a top 32 list together, rank Candice number 2 or above, and kick her into the final tally in the next 17 minutes! Yeah. I know already. I am outta luck!

Yeah. There is a wide appreciation for celebrities (or people we want to label as celebrities ). It would not surprise me if there is someone out there who read my list and disagreed with all of them! Different strokes for different folks.

That is why I am glad I thought up this new voting system. I will use the final combined opinion of everyone participating in this thread to hopefully start a series of new sticky threads over the course of a week. CowboysZone members will have a chance to vote on the final list from this thread without being obligated in creating a list of their own. Maybe (hint hint) the voting will spark more interest among members and more will post their own list for upcoming contests/threads.
