Cesar Ruiz

This would be an EPIC fail of monumental proportions....
Nothing against Ruiz himself, or even selecting him for that matter.

THIS team...right NOW...has ALREADY decided they are DEFINITELY taking a CENTER???

That's just a philosophical disaster.

I'm sorry but this is beyond the stupidity level even for those two clowns and I dont buy it at all.

If they trade back into the 20s and nab a guy like Fulton (who I'd rather have than Henderson) and get someone capable of starting at S with the extra pick (Jeremy Chinn?), I can live with it.

Even so, exactly one year from now we will still be talking about needing DBs.

Dix-Woods-Lewis-Awuzie.....all UFAs after 2020.

On phone so cant post partial article but according to Bleacher Report quoting Peter King the Cowboys have honed in on him as their pick and love him. Article says 17 is too high and wont be there at 51. So either a trade back or a trade up from 51 if put any stock in this, or pure smoke screen.

ruiz would be great. I’d rather LSU center in 2nd round.

that’s what they said when we took Frederick
Not quite to that level.

Frederick was always regarded as a solid pick, but in people mocks he was a second round player, so they wanted "value." Meanwhile how many players taken ahead of Fred completely busted?

Even if it was guaranteed that Ruuz was be equal to Frederick, you still cant do it, because you have to be hoping that MCGOVERN is Frederick, and improve the team elsewhere.

I don't think many people realize how bad this defense is about to be unless serious additions are made....even at that they will be rookies.

we don’t have a starting center. Oline is the teams identity. Center is the most important position on the line arguably.

if we want to continue oline dominance, then finding a new pro bowl caliber center is a must.

To go into ANY draft with pick 17 and zero in on ANYONE is pure stupidity.

It's a smokescreen, but I'm letting myself get worked up over it. Not sure why lol.

mcgovern is not Frederick and is projected to play guard. We need him to replace Williams.

Love that scenario.

That OL was also seriously lacking talent. Right now we have two first rounders, a player that would have been a mid first, and two day 2 draft picks. The unit us definitely not lacking talent right
now

But who plays center?

Looney is adequate but we gave up like 100 sacks in 2018 mostly due to his inability to sort out blitzes.

McGovern? Who knows. Dude hasn’t played a snap. He may be good he may be awful.

I completely agree we have big holes elsewhere but if you trade back 7-8 spots and get Ruiz it’s a good pick.

I'm not at all sure how you consider Ruiz a definite but Connor McGovern isnt a possibility, or Looney for that matter.

Looney is a career backup.

McGovern is a guard prospect and will have enough trouble adjusting there.

Listen to yourselves....McGovern hasn't played a snap so we cant count on him.

The solution is a draft pick?

Stop and consider the bust factor of each and every pick, and also the allocation of resources.

It's not like McGovern was some scrub. They had a SECOND round grade on him. Ok so he got hurt in his rookie year. Just throw him away?? They shouldnt and wont.

The difference us that Ruiz is a center. McGovern is a guard. Different positions obviously require different skillets. Ruiz has proven he has this specific skillet. Albeit in college. Which is more than we can say for McGovern

Ruiz hasn't played a snap either.

Hasn't played a snap? What are you talking about?

Ruiz is the #1 center prospect. Nobody is saying he is a guarantee. But if your looking to fill that need, then Ruiz is the best bet to do that.

Personally, I would take CB in the first round unless Kinlaw falls then go Center in the 2nd round with Cushenburry from LSU. Then I would look to go WR or Safety in the 3rd round depending on which positions falls there with a better prospect.

You're telling me that McGovern hasn't played and NFL snap.

How many of those has Ruiz had?

Regardless, not my point.

The OP is about the team having zeroed in on any one player at this point. They should not IMO.
