Ga. was unable to punch it in, in the Red Zone . . .

The joke is that our ND fanboy didn't actually go to ND.

UGA won back to back titles in 2022 and 2023. So, its been far less than a decade. I've never defended Bama being in the playoff. The selection process is flawed as we saw with JMU and Tulane somehow taking spots.

Who do you think ranked the teams in the BCS? It still some combination of people voting. The fact you think thats somehow not going to also favor the SEC is hilarious.
Dump CCGs. They are meaningless. 3 of the 4 teams left didn’t play in one.

Kill auto bids.

No rankings until end of year. Then rank 8, 12, 16 (how many you want) in one final ranking.

Dump present selection process. Use actual computer data in calculating rankings. No voters with direct financial incentive for a team and/or conference. So that means ADs at P4 conference get stuffed in a hat and shipped out.

First two rounds on college campuses. If you stick with 12 teams this might help mitigate the long layoff for these teams with byes.

The above would be better than the crap process we have now.

I knew Morten was bad but it's criminal TT wasted such an amazing Defense but neglected the QB position, if they want to win it all they need a huge QB upgrade in the portal.

I know the thought of somebody stating the obvious........that the SEC has been the most dominant conference for a long time.....makes you bristle. If you can't handle facts (recruiting, NFL draft , and national titles) thats a personal problem.

I am also on record as saying that Bama should not have been in the playoff. ND or BYU should have gone, and Tulane and JMU had no business playing with the big boys.

In my view, the Big 10 has caught the SEC in recent years.

Conferences will continue to evolve. They aren't going anywhere.

Fun fact: all 4 of the head coaches in the final 4 are on the Saban coaching tree.
Great post except I think BYU would have been destroyed.

These refs milking that last second.
Worst crew ever.
I get that the rules need to be followed because anything can happen but it was handled beyond poorly.

Before the kickoff they should have gone to both coaches & said this may not be the last play so tell your team not to come onto the field until we announce game is over. They could have also had the PA announce to the crowd that the game will not be over until the ref's declare it so.

Our high school football coach had a sign in his office that said the will to win will always beat the skill to win.
I have always like this & similar messages. Only thing I will say is that when the skills also have the will, then you got something special.

NDs last trophy is so old it has probably rotted away by now. They’ve sucked for a few generations at this point.

It’s nice seeing 4 remaining teams this year who don’t have fanbases that are easy to hate.

when was the last time YOUR team got close?

The only thing that is likely to happen is an expansion of the playoffs. There is no reason in the "pay for play" era to give schools the month of the December off. As we have seen, team with first round byes are now 1-7 in the new playoff. They can easily expand this to 32 or even 64 teams.

Damn. Should have kept watching that game. Thought Georgia was going to win that one. What a great comeback.

Hard to believe that James Madison scored more points than Texas Tech against Oregon. What a disappointing finish for TX Tech, Ohio State and TX A&M.

Sort of figured Alabama was going to get blown out by Indiana. They definitely look like the real deal. No fake schedule rankings there.

I am not emotionally invested in a single team. I just enjoy good college football, and I typically root for the underdogs. Living and dying for a single team is not worth it. Once you remove yourself from the die hard loyalty of a loser team, your life will be much more enjoyable.

I am a neutral observer.
I just call the facts like they are, and Notre Dame has been pretty much overrated and worthless for multiple generations.

Love the way it’s shaken out this season. Finally some parity. Indiana, Ole Miss, Miami, Oregon.....that’s fresh air for the sport. Way more entertaining than watching the usual suspects trade championships back and forth.

A 64 team field would require 6 EXTRA games to determine a champion and that is with no bye weeks (all 64 teams play the first round). That isn't feasible, it's almost another full season. Plus college & NFL have had a long understanding about staying out of each others way as much as possible. Having college & NFL playoffs & finals bleeding that late into January, early February would hurt both. 12 teams is sufficient especially if you put 12 deserving teams in to begin with.

This year worked out well. Only 10 or 11 teams deserved to be in this year. Any teams that were left out didn’t have a chance anyways.

Anyone believing this post, I have a bridge for sale in Brooklyn...

If 16 needs to be the number, so be it. But the process has to change.

There is zero reason why Hunter Yuracheck, a guy running an athletic department that greatly benefits by more SEC teams making the field, should be able to vote on SEC teams. And CCGs are useless, cash grabs at this point. Only a matter of time before a team starts stashing players to keep them from getting hurt as the playoffs approach.

64 or 32 teams is just dumb.

This year was a dud. Two G5 teams. Bama getting in despite limping for weeks before getting demolished by UGA.

The field should have been given the silly two G5 teams

IU
UGA
OSU
A&M
TT
UO
Ole Miss
Miami
ND
OU
Tulane
JMU

32 teams dumb. Bc you say so? lol

The voting isn't going to change and every person voting has some tie in with a team or conference. Thats the reality and its always going to be like that unless the playoff is expanded so more Big 12 and ACC teams have a shot. The more teams in the playoff, the less personal bias matters in the decision making process.

Expanding to 32 makes a ton of sense and is far more likely to happen than a new voting system.

for those that worship the almighty dollar
for those the want to see real competition its garbage

and even more games for college players to get hurt in

but of course none of that matters

I honestly thought that the total should never be above 8. And likce the BCS only improved. All done by metrics and formulas no corrupt committee members.

There is NEVER more than that many teams that REALLY do deserve to be part of it

No team with more than one loss should ever be in
and your SOS has to be above a certain level
