Any thoughts on him. Seems to be climbing fast. Heard Lombardi say that he could go top 20 and has him above Upshaw and Ingram.

If he has him rated above Ingram, he's in the minority. I've seen a number of places where he is rated around the same or slightly higher than Upshaw, though.

I like the looks of him, and he's not really climbing up draft boards lately so much as the average draftnik is just now figuring out what the guys who watch film already knew...that he's a solid first-round prospect and can get enough pass-rush that he won't make it out of the round. He could go as high as #16 to the Jets, I believe.

Wait, I thought that Andre Branch was the flavor of the month?

It's flavor of the week this time of year...perhaps even flavor of the day this week...and Branch was last week's flavor.

If we draft Poe or Coples, next week's flavor will be Tutti Frutti, because we all will have gone crazy. :puke:

Reminds me of a suped up Canty. He's`got tons and tons of potential

Some say he's the best pass rusher in the entire draft.
A better question is, what does that mean? Is it a deep draft for pass rushers?

David Carr was the best quarterback in the 2002 draft, it's all relative to the supply and demand.

good point. this is not a strong draft for pass rushing DEs or OLBs. So naturally on draft day a guy like this will go higher than expected.

Chandler has interesting measureables. Tallest and longest arms of the OLB prospects:

question is was he held back because of his knee injury and is really a different type athlete a la anquan boldin?

on paper he is a lesser athlete than anthony spencer by a good bit.

... D-Ware's #'s are even more freaky than how I remembered em.

To me, he just seems stiff like he's still trying to get used to his body, he kind of lumbers around the field. But man can he bull rush. I'd see if he can put on some weight and play 3-4 DE.

That's a really bad 40, but a really good 3 cone.

looking again you are correct. I was comparing him mostly to my pet cat, Ingram, who slaughtered the 3 cone, beating even Ware's number.

i still think Ingram goes top 10 and is the top pass rusher selected.

Ingram also had a very good SS. His vertical was good too.

I think I'm warming up to drafting him again. :laugh1:

Ingram has the best measurables out of any of the 3-4 OLB prospects besides Irvin.

And Ingram's #'s aren't far off from Irvin's despite being 20 pounds heavier. Wouldn't complain if we took him at #14, but I doubt it happens.

Ingram is a Spencer clone in our system to me, he wasn't ever asked to pin his ears back but instead read and react, occupy and shed, drop back into coverage, etc. but seeing him accelerate on some of those plays is promising. Irvin is explosive but very raw and hasn't developed many pass rush moves. He's not strong enough to bull rush and just wants to stutter step his way past the OT, negating his speed. That's primarily why I don't like either of those guys in the 1st. I would rather trade down a bit and take a Mercilus or McClellin if it came to it.
