Coors light is the only beer I won't drink because I get massive headaches from it. I don't know why, but it ruins me.

I do too. I never knew anybody else who had the same reaction to it. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Alrighty then...............so what's your beer of choice? (I hate beer snobs, by the way.)
That's something I've never been called. I drink Busch. It's cheap and goes down easy. Especially after working out in the sun on a day like today.

I like Yuengling.

Kona Fire Rock Pale Ale (Longboard Lager is not bad either)
New Glarus Spotted Cow
New Belgium Fat Tire
Alaskan Amber
Shiner Bock

All solid beers. There's been a few seasonals I've really loved, but I'm not sure they all got brought back (Shiner Frost, Copper Hook Spring Ale)

New Belgium makes several good beers. 1554 is my favorite from them. They also make some **** beer.

My Favs:

Dos Equis Ambar
Newcastle
Shiner
Shiner Blonde
Shiner Hef
Paulaner Hef
1554
Guiness

But we drink Miller Lt most of the time.

Have you ever had the greatness that is Yuengling Lager?

(the original brewery is still active and is about 20 minutes from my hometown)

Yuengling might be the best marketing of the last 25 years.

What once was a just step above the bottom of the barrel Old Germans of the world now has almost a cult snob status. It's a $12 a glass "Beer from around the World" at Yankee Stadium.....I remember getting cases for less than that when we couldn't afford "good" beer.

Are you really going to go after Yuengling for it's pricing at Yankee Stadium? Seriously? If Miller Lite is $9 at Cowboys Stadium, then Yuengling Lager is a bargain at $12 in New York.

However, in real life, Lager is $17 for a case of 24 bottles and is very tasty. That being said, most locals to Pottsville, PA drink good ol Yuengling Premium. Lager is the leftovers when they brew Premium, so you have a slight point, I guess.

Not a beer snob, just hate those beers! :laugh2:

I like beers like Negra Modelo, Modelo Especial, Shiner Bock, Guiness Stout, Sam Adams (Sam Adams Light is acceptable too), Becks, etc.

I generally prefer dark beers, but there are a few lighter ones I like too. I always like a good hefeweizen style beer. The beer needs favor though. If it's a watery beer like Corona, Coors light, etc. I want no part of it. (Coors regular is a million times better than Coors Light)

btw, I hate everyone. Does that make us even? ;)

:laugh1: :laugh1: Shiner Bock

Holy hillbilly batmat...blargh....hate the stuff.

I do love Negra Modelo...that's about all I drink anymore. :)

Casta Morena is another excellent dark mexican ale if you can find it.

I realize that Yuengling doesn't control the price at Yankee Stadium...I used that as an example of the "cult" status it's attained.

I'm from PA and can remember back when they used to water it down for Old German, before the lager was even made, and now am an acquaintance of Dick so my opinion isn't from lack of knowledge, but rather an amazement at what once was considered "swill" becoming a "snob" beer.

I recently discovered "Fat Tire" beer and I like it quite a bit.

Shocktop is the only "fruity" beer I like.

I like Dos Equis lager and Sweetwater 420 a lot as well.

I will pretty much drink anything though.Especially if I'm at work, and it's free.

This thread also reminds me, does anyone goto Taco Mac? If so, how many beers have you tried on their "passport club". I got up to 35 or so and quit trying new beers from there. They carry 100+ and it costs way to much to keep going and trying new ones.

Yuengling is beaver piss. I liked it at one time, but it's just a skunky swill.

Anyone that drinks beer and doesn't like Shiner Bock gets their man card revoked.

The only fruity beer I like is an occasional Blue Moon, and Wild Blue (this doesn't taste like beer, at all.. and I have to be in the mood for it).

People's tastes in beers are one of those things that I'll never understand. You mention several great beers and then throw in Miller Lite at the end.

I'll drink almost any light beer if it's available and cold, but I cannot stand the taste of Miller Lite.

+1 on Fat Tire. The same company (New Belgium) also makes a summer beer called Skinny Dip that is a great BBQ/Beach/Pool beer. It is a clear, crisp beer that is a little hoppy. it's not really a "lite" beer because it has 110 calories, but definitely not a heavy beer. Check it out.

Have not had that yet but will def find it.

Would like to recommend abita s.o.s (save our shore) for two reasons. First it tastes good and has 7%alcohol and 22oz of it per bottle. Second they donate almost a dollar worth of it to the gulf shore.

Nothing better than getting drunk for charity!!

Miller Lite is no great beer, but compared to many American beers it isn't all that bad. At least it has *some* flavor to it. (like Regular Coors).

If I have a choice of the most common regular American beers, I will take a Miller Lite before I take a lot of the other crap that exists. (Bud, Bud Lite, Coors Lite, Michelob, etc)

I know I've shared this before but every beer drinker needs to look at the story of "Lite"..designed as a diet beer for women when "diet" products were all the rage....remember Tab?...colossal disaster at its inception except for a small town in Indiana where it was a huge hit...execs found that male mill workers were drinking it because it didn't fill them up.....they looked to athletes to tap the male demographic in advertising but found there were prohibitions against current athletes pushing alcohol so they went with retired athletes....we got the single greatest commercial series of all time...I sure hope them horses can swim.......and a new genre of beer..watered down crap like Coors Light and Bud Light

Don't drink now.

However when I did we would go cheap and buy Busch...mostly due to price and for the price it was better than the other cheaper beers out there.

On occasion we would get imports that were not bad.

A good number of people would get Corona but we would get Simpatico instead.

Of course there is the all time best foreign beer ever...OB Beer.

No...I don't really think it is the best ever...think the opposite.

But when you went to bars in South Korea you had three choices Bud, Budlite and OB beer.

You drink bud/lite until you got your buzz going and then switched to OB beer because you could get twice as much for half the price. :laugh2:

We have similar tastes in beer. Negra Modelo is the smoothest dark beer in history. I have a few in the fridge right now... Modelo Especial is also very good as is Shiner Bock...

Corona is nothing more than marketing. When I was in college, Corona was $2.50 a 6 pack. Around my senior year, the marketing campaign kicked in and it went up to $4.50. As a marketing major, we actually closely watched the campaign... it was genius promotion of cheap beer...
