Any of these "This is what we should do for future success" posts that don't have "Begin the search for a QB immediately" as the #1 priority cannot be taken seriously.
Well, you can thank Dak for that, he has the team hostage. So, get all pros at every position, it won't matter, Dak touches the ball second, after the snap.

To me it’s clear what they need yet it won’t matter as long as Mr Buffalo Trace is running things.

DL. They need a starting quality DT and DE in the draft. Probably the first 2 picks.

RB. I like Dowdle and would resign him. Still they need a guy that can get 10-15 touches day 1. Preferably a guy that has some speed too.

WR. They need a home run hitter to compliment Lamb. Too many of their WRs are the same type.

Gadget speed guy. A pure speed guy. Give me a smaller school guy that can be a burner. Like a Turpin but prefer someone that is more sturdy.

OG /C- mid round guy that can add depth. I am assuming we are done with Steele and Smith moves to LT. Have Guyton and Richards compete for RT. Hoffman, Bass, Bebe are my starters. If Richards losses out to Guyton he goes to the inside and competes there.

LB - I prefer a classic MLB guy.

That’s what I want. Maybe LB and OL are vets.

- RB1 and bring back Dowdle as depth
- WR2
- Slide Smith to LT, release Steele, move Guyton to RT. Bass or Hoffman start at RG and upgrade LG

- Edge rusher
- More beef at DT
- MLB
- Replace the safeties

- Solid draft and a 3rd place schedule should help out a lot
What’s the dead cap hit from moving on from Steele?

Spotrac says $13.5M for 25' and $9.3M for 26'. 27' is $5.2 and 28' is for a bag of used hockey pucks and a one year membership to Dunkin Donuts.

This is a real problem. Performance wise Steel should be a backup, but price wise you can't afford to let him sit on the bench for 25' and 26'. If you can upgrade his position for cheaper then great release him. If you can't you are sort of boxed in unless you just want to take a hit.

In no particular order...

New offensive line coach with some recent chops. Zone running scheme,...tough hard nosed run game.

Draft another D.T high and sign one as well.

Draft another inside linebacker, another OLB too.

Draft another WR, sign one to replace Cooks.

Draft a true lead back,...1st round, second at latest.

Upgrade the offense with more motion,.... a lot more motion.

Sign some decent depth.

I am not a McCarthy hater, so if he stays I wouldn't totally be against it either. But yeah,...I would just as soon see him gone. Next head coach cant be a yes man,....he has to have a little fire in his belly or modern players will walk all over him. Wouldn't mind seeing Mike Vrabel brought in,...for my money he can bring Jim Schwartz to run the defense too.
Vrabel accomplished a lot for the hand he was dealt with the Titans,...never had an Uber talented team although he did have some great talent in spots like Derrick Henry. Tennessee has been known for quite some time as a team that doesn't spend in Free agency,...between that and a couple questionable drafts it kept them out of the super Bowl IMO.
In fact, Vrabel reminds me a lot of Dan Campbell,....but Campbell was given much more control.
Good stuff.

If Vrabel is the guy, we'd absolutely better have an O guru at OC.

They can do everything you suggest and this team will still not be successful.

Because the main problem will still be making 60 Mil next season.
So what was the problem before the 60M man? Given we have been bad for 30 years.

Oh wait nevermind...you been a fan for only past 6 years....got it:thumbup:

Steele is here for duration of his contract
Jerry doesn't let players go before their contract is ended unless they have injuries and just can't play any more.

Pathetic. Same Haters spewing their nonsense, but they never tell you who they prefer to get to replace Dak or fix that supposed hole at starting QB. They won't do it because their idea is worse......much worse than Dak.

We have not drafted well with WR or DT, unless someone falls in our lap.

Need to fill holes in FA and go back to draft best player available in the first 3 rounds.
That would be dumb. That means we'll be drafting 3 WR's. Or 3 TE's. Or 3 whatevers.

A team is incredibly dumb to draft using either BPA or Need as a strategy. All things must be considered. BPA gets you Taco.

You think Taco was the best player available???

You need a time out.
