Charcoal or Propane?

So if im grilling a steak and I want to charcoal a baked potato how long before should I put the potato on before I put my steak on?

Do they take a long time to cook?

It depends on the size of the potato and how you like the steak. Poke the potato 2 or 3 times with a fork and wrap it in foil. Cook it between 45 minutes and an hour depending upon how big it is.

I grew up on charcoal but now use a propane grill. I grill, on average, 3 times a week year round so I don't have time to get charcoal going every time.

What I do, is put a small cast iron smoker tray with water and wood chips. You can hardly taste the difference. I use mesquite chips for beef and fish, hickory for pork shoulder and ribs (beef and pork) and apple for pork, wild game and ham...

Thanks Hos. Im going to cook the heck out of my 1st potato so hopefully it isnt raw in the middle.

How long would you say an ear of corn takes to grill?

We grill pretty healthy actually... lots of chicken and seafood... and we do like beef at times...

:hammer: . Catch I am gonna give you one of my secrets to great Barbecue. I figure you looked out for me with the fish oils and videos. I make a baste called Dirty water and here is how you make it:

Put you about a 1/3 cup of vinegar in a tall glass
Then put a spoon full of Mustard, Ketchup, couple of dashes of Worcheshire Sauce, season salt, dash of lemon juice and some Jamaican seasoning
Then fill it up to the top with water and mix it up.
While you are cooking your meat, baste this over it every time you flip it. It works with Chicken or Steaks

I make several types of Dirty water. You can put any spices you like in it just remember to put the Vinegar and the water with it.

Alright I will try it. Ill put it in a ziplock bag along with my steak but it souns like it might be better with chicken.

Did you see my breakfast shake I posted a week or so ago? That sucker will give you energy all day long.

Im still taking the fish oil every day along with Green Tea extract and I feel pretty good and ive lost about 8 pounds since april towards my goal of 20.

Actually its best with chicken but its not a marinade. Brush it over your food when you turn the meat. It works best that way.

Man I love the fish oils. I actually take like 3-4 a day. I am doing this Metabolic advantage program where I take Fish oils, eat lots of Protein, Green supplements and Creatine with a post workout recovery drinks. I feel great and have lost 13 pounds.

I miss the breakfast shake. Please do tell.

Appreciatte it and I will try that. Those fish burps are nasty going back down.lol

That is the WORST...

I take a lot of fish oil and burping sardines at 9:30 am isn't pleasant, but the results are worth the taste...

I roast the corn right in the husks and usually 8 to 10 minutes with turning it. The flames will cook off the "silk strings" and when the edges of the husks are just a bit charred is usually when to turn them. When you have a decent burn on the edges of the husks all around the corn it is probably done just about right.

BTW, on the grill tastes so much better than boiling corn.

Also how much do you take a day.

I know it's supposed to be good for your cholesterol and triglycerides.

I've been taking it for about two years but haven't been tested yet...but I will soon.

Just wondering.
