I like Charles Harris but his 3cone was really bad and shocking , the sad part is its doesnt reflect on tape.I would be ok with him and trust our scouts.

As a Cowboys fan you'd have to hope she's guessing. No reporter, even the hometown beat, should know what we're thinking.
I doubt she does. The majority of mock drafts have Harris to Dallas.

I like his athleticism, but his size concerns me quite a bit. I can see him getting eaten up by by massive NFL tackles and becoming inert against the run.

I hope the majority are way wrong here. I wasn't enamored with him before the combine. Definitely don't want him after he basically bombed it.

I wouldn't worry too much about anyone's combine physical scores. You can watch him and see physical ability isn't the issue with him. Size is.

I disagree. You don't see him bend nearly as much as a speed rusher should on tape. What was surprising was his 40/10 yard split. I thought he was a little stiff but had a really good initial burst, but his times in both drills were bad. Id say the eye test doesn't match up with the combine 40 time tho and I'll always take the eye test to trump the combine. His initial burst looks good and so does the spin move he flashes occasionally...I'm just not sure what else he does well.

Not play the run. He's awful at that. He's going to be a situational rusher at best this year and that's usually not the Cowboys MO. They want players they can plug in as starters in the 1st and that's not him to me.

The agility drills tell it all. He needs to be great in small spaces (10-15 yards). I'd rather have other edge guys or the best CB available.

i still think he can play even though his measurables sucked. I expected a better combine though. I'm iffy about him now.

IF we draft Harris I have a feeling a year from now we will be talking about the next DE we need to draft.

THIS. He just doesn't have the "it" factor. Smaller, not quick twitch...no thanks.

Big Losers

Charles Harris, DE, Missouri
C6Ln2nzXEAEZzIv.jpg:small

Pass rushers who made the Pro Bowl had an RAS over 5.00 more than three times as often than those who had a score of below average. If that wasn’t glaring enough, 22 of the 41 pro bowlers who qualified for RAS, more than half, had an RAS in the elite 8.00-10.00 range. That’s twice as many (nine) as had a score below 5.00. Only three Pro Bowl DE had a RAS lower than Charles Harris. Two of them were 3-4 DE (who often measure much better as DT) while the third was Michael Bennett, who went undrafted. Having a poor RAS isn’t going to torpedo a player’s chances of getting drafted highly or becoming great, but it’s going to make the former less likely and the latter more difficult.
