This really isn't big news. Teams are always feeling out teams above them about the possibility of a trade up.
.

Correct...and even if NOBODY has contacted the Chargers about the possibility of trading their pick...The Chargers, if smart, would say they have been contacted if for nothing else to gin up some interest from other teams who might consider it.

Right but if they really like Bosa or Ramsey then they could always grab a QB like Cook at the top of round 2.

Very true, or try to trade back into the first round and get Lynch or something. That's what I love about this, we can argue X will do Y for days but we won't truly know what will happen until draft day. At that point, I just put my faith in our FO to do what is best! Either way, we have good capital with the #4 overall

I agree 100% and that's why I always laugh when someone posts that the Cowboys definitley won't take a certain player.

I just hope it is good enough to get a QB if that is what we desire. I don't want to see the war room in panic mode because Philly (just an example, I don't think they are in the market) jumps above us and snatches Wentz from right under us.

CLE is taking a QB. And RGIII isn't a good enough player to convince them not to, anyway.

So, if you want a QB, you have to got to #1 or #3. Meaning teams must think the Cowboys are in play for that 2nd QB. That actually puts us in a pretty good spot. I want the QB, but I'd be happy with the selection that'd be available to us if they both go before our pick at #4, too.

The nice thing about picking #4 is there are very few scenarios to work through before that first pick. The odds of getting caught pants-down are zero. We might not get our top 3 guys, but we're guaranteed to get at last the 4th best player on our board. That's not too shabby.

But if we really do want a QB, we could be put in a peculiar situation.

It is smart for SD to play the trade down card all the way up to their pick.

I could see a scenario where their GM calls Jerry, "I have the Eagles on the phone, they are about to move up to take Wentz, do you have an offer?" bluffing or not.

So if Tenn takes Tunsil (as many predict they will), and Cleveland goes Wentz/Goff, Chargers trade their pick to a team who takes the other of Wentz/Goff, in that scenario then the pick should be Ramsey.

Or, say Tenn for some reason takes Ramsey at #1, Dallas then has the option of Tunsil/Bosa at #4, or a trade down with someone who might covet Tunsil. Either way we are sitting quite pretty at #4. Would you be opposed to the idea of Dallas adding another young Blue chip to that O line?

Additionally, say the team who trades with the Chargers ends up picking Ramsey at #3, then we could get either Bosa or the other QB at #4.

That's my thinking too and I would have no issues taking Ramsey at #4 than turning around at #34 and taking another Defensive Player
or Josh Doctson the WR from TCU

Certainly not surprising. Not sure about ya'll but I think everyone should at least listen to trade offers.

I think because of the fact that this isn't just a one time deal (I.e. You want to be able to trade down the road) teams usually don't ******** each other. If they do bull **** us, & it comes to light they did, it really hurts their credibility in the long run

There is a lot of BS going around this time of year. Here is one that a local sports radio station discussed this morning in San Fran. They were discussing about how much Kelly liked Marietta and the trade that was proposed last year in order to get him. They discussed Kelly convincing Balke to trade their 1st and maybe another pick and a player for him. They brought this up after the Niners trade Kap to the Broncos. They said that this would really screw up the draft and mostly likely many cowboys fans will be upset since a lot of them want a qb. They said it would force Tenn to take a qb. This is just sports radio discussing possible scenarios. I highly doubt this will happen but it does make for some interested conversation.

Jerry said yesterday at the owner's meeting that the Cowboys may indeed take a QB in this draft but,
not in the 1st round because Romo is their guy. I have heard several scouts and teams pontificate that
Goff could be a likely bust due to the scheme he played in college and his small hands which would be
a problem in cold weather games. Look for Dallas to take one of the two defensive stars available if
they do stay at #4.

True. But I'm hearing that RGIII may be in play for Cleveland. If the Browns sign, RGIII, I doubt they take a quarterback at #2.

Have you watched RGIII the last few years? He is a stopgap that can take punishment for a few seasons so Cleveland doesn't ruin Wentz while they attempt to rebuild again.

No joke, I feel so very sorry for Cleveland Browns fans. They deserve a fully catered pity party in the middle of the City each and every year for supporting that dumpster fire of a franchise.
