I disagree here.

I want us to use every draft pick we have, not dump them indiscriminately just because we don't believe eleven players can make this team. The more players we have the better chances we will have to field a better team.

I do not agree with this. This is a stylized version of trading down and getting more picks gives you better odds of finding as gem theory.

There is a flaw in this notion. The late picks have a propensity to not make the team or if they do, not contribute much.

Now for every example you will cite showing a sixth and seventh round pick making a contribution, and Bobby Carpenter a first and not. There is a strong history that contradicts this notion.

Or why isn't everyone a first round pick?

Depends on what it would take to get a look at him but it's something that they could certainly look into. I don't really know much about him though.

The guy is causing problems in San Diego and complaining that he's not getting an opportunity to play more at wide receiver.

Does anybody think that he would get more of an opportunity at wide receiver in Dallas?

He is worth a 6th or 7th to come in and play special teams but not if it means crying all year about his role.

If he wants a change of scenery enough to play special teams here and shut up I'd be in.

and re the 11 draft picks thing... We will be stuck with their contracts once we draft them and we do not want to take a bunch of small bonus money hits to get these guys in camp. 5 or 6 bodies drafted not making the team could be real nasty. And there will be virtually no dropoff between round 6 and the UDFA guys.
