It isn't really changing the name back to the Hornets. The Charlotte Hornets were a different franchise that moved to New Orleans and were called the New Orleans Hornets for some time before eventually becoming the New Orleans Pelicans.

What still seems weird to me after all these years is the Utah JAZZ. That name should have stayed attached to New Orleans.
