What do you do with this guy?

He is closer to a TE then he is a WR as far as body shape and size.

I don’t think he see him as an X or a Z WR at the next level.

Is he just a better Blake Jarwin in the receiving game?

He’s a difficult player to figure out.

Move him to TE or make him a big slot. Think he could be a weapon stretching the middle of the field.

As a TE he would be a mismatch. Not many LBs could keep up with him. A lot of safeties would struggle with his size.

Well he's certainly not a TE running in the 4.4s

But this is illustrative of how the TE position is dying. You can use him in the same exact role as Jarwin in the passing game and get a more explosive element.

I think Albert Okwuegbunam deserves some respect too.

I wanted this guy in the 2nd round last year.. I check in on draft stuff this year and he isn't even talked about hardly.

Everything about this guy just jumps off the screen. This is what a TE should look like and move like.

Think teams will look at Claypool similarly to DK Metcalf. I vote keep him at WR to stretch the field with his speed, and highpoint the ball over mismatches.

He's no David LaFleur, that's for sure.

I was just kind of thinking the same thing. I'm still not sold that he's explosive enough to do that, but I think that's where the highest upside would be, rather than as a big slot.

He's almost identical physically to Evan Engram but worked out as a WR instead of a TE. Really, who cares whether he's a "WR" or a "TE?" He's a big, fast pass-catching weapon and I'd love to see him in Dallas.

Claypool's results in the 40 are very surprising. He's a good athlete, but he doesn't play like a 4.42 guy. He can play out wide, though, and has the body and leaping ability to make contested catches all day long. Claypool is also pretty good after the catch. He wouldn't work in the slot - he's not a sudden, quick player in pads.

I heard this on NFLN.. Since 2003 only 2 WR's that were at least 6'4, 235 lbs, and ran the dash in under 4.45 were Calvin Johnson and Chase Claypool.

There are several TE in NFL 4 4 speed

Rotoworld did an analysis and found for "big" WRs (6'2" +), 3 cone time had little correlation to success; what mattered for those guys was 40 time and broad jump. Those guys win on size/speed and explosion, not changing direction.

Dez Bryant, for example, had terrible agility scores. But he was big, he had decent speed, and his explosion scores were just freaking mind-blowing, so he terrorized the league for 3 years on nine routes and slants

No there isn't.

2017 - Evan Engram
2012 - Ladarius Green, James Hanna
2011 - Rob Housler
2010 - Dorin Dickerson

That's every TE who has run in the 4.4s at the combine since 2010. TEs who run in the 4.4s don't really exist, because they are WRs.

I think the stiffness, and route running hurt him but he is straight line fast.
When I saw him attempt to block that sled, I could see my old coaches head explode. My woman came in and asked me why I was screaming about low butts and driving sleds :lmao2:

love to get him.
dont care where you put him...just get him on the field...he'll make plays.
McCarthy likes Notre Dame players...he drafted alot in green bay.
