Chauncey Golston and the Cowboys

Gholston out of position for the Giants just like most of his time here. He is a decent run stopping DE in a 3-4. As an early down DT, no. A 3-4 DE, no.
Giants LBers are near teh tops in the league if Reese is what he is supposed to be.

Not even. We had huge gaps in our D due to horrific player acquisition. The injured players were already injured and we had no decent replacement plan in place. Still don't understand why we didn't bring back Kendricks.

Who got hurt that was unexpected?
Players were in an out all season long. Some did not return until was too late. By December they had quite a few players called up from the PS.

Looks like he is getting the starting job in as a NYG. He was our 3rd round pick in the 2021 NFL draft.

Giants are playing a base 3-4.

DE in a 3-4 is the perfect position for Golston.

Golston was excellent vs run in 2014 for the Cowboys.
- He played as the Strong Side DE in a 4-man line.

Many OTs really struggled with his length and power on run plays.
-Obviously he was limited as a pass rusher relative to other 4-man DEs.

Yes and that happens so you can't keep everyone Armstrong was pretty good too and we had to let him go Yes Cowboys can draft I don't know if you've heard but they do a pretty good job But again you can't keep everyone the Cowboys have a better defensive line and by the way he wouldn't start on our team so that should say a lot II don't know how he's starting but we even let a better guy go because he just wasn't figuring it out yet but you remember that other guy,

Mallik Collins, I remember when this guy was being hated on that he was inconsistent he couldn't play Cowboys got tired of waiting and now he's a solid starting defensive lineman in this league probably the best of all the ones the Cowboys cut outside of Ward who's a corner it happened you lose out on players waiting for them to develop they develop a little later and now you know it is what it is but we have one of the better defensive lines in the league right now including the depth Some of these guys would not even start on this team now which is crazy with the turn around the last 2 seasons..

EXACTLY.
Christian Parker, Fangio or even Belicheck do absolutely nothing with the exact personnel as last year.

People need to get over themselves and the scapegoat Flus narrative.

How many of last year's guys are not even on an NFL roster this year?
It STARTS with talent.
THEN coaching.
IF theyre NOT total scrubs, which last year's bunch was.
Case closed.

We'll see how he does as a full-time stater. He was a good rotational end, and a good fit there a team that has about 20 super-talented undersized speed rushers but no one bigger to set the edge. But I don't know how he'll do playing 600 snaps more on the inside.

Nothing but love for Golston though... he's just a dude who got better and better every year in Dallas, and earned his nice paycheck.

Injuries are a poor excuse for that clusterfudge of a D we trotted out last year.

I hate excuses. We sucked majorly on D. Think about this. If it was mostly about injuries, then why did we replace almost everyone? And that same D you're making excuses for was 28th in the NFL the previous year w/ Parsons. What happened then?

Big Mike and Zim didn’t seem to get along.

Zim is a AA gap guru. We rarely saw it.

I don’t think big Mike cared for it.

Golston starting = Giants desperate for an answer after trading away Dexter Lawrence.
Correct he's a solid player just like we were forced to get rid of Armstrong and OSA didn't look very good last night in the run game and that's why we got rid of him he looked good in the past game he even flashed every now and again But anybody thinking somehow the Cowboys will rue the day LOL come on man yeah Cooper Rush is starting for the Falcons possibly this weekend should we also say we made a mistake let him go OMG..lol

It was a combination of many things.
They did not bring in the right players. There were injuries throughout the entire year. Zero depth. Eberflus refused to change.
Was playing PS players in December.

It is not an excuse, it was the reality of all of it.
