Bell seems 2 be favored over Wilson. But yeah, you are preaching to the choir. Wilson has been my guy. I luv his tenacity when healthy. Has a nose for turnovers. He brings some swag. Im just sayin, the staff seems to be favoring Bell.
Did you hear the 'staff' say they favored Bell ?

Per Will McClay, they project Bell as a hybrid LB/S.
- McClay says that Bell played at 230 at one point in time.

Oh I forgot all about him. Look for him to have a very good year.

Between he and Armstrong, they can muster 6 sacks and replace Gregory I'm sure... And they can probably do it in half the amount of penalties.

Hahahaha.

DeMarcus Lawrence rookie stats
9 tackles
2 TFL
0 Sacks
0 QB hits
0 fumble recoveries
0 passes defended
He flashed in the playoffs tho. D law's problem with me has been hes a good player who isnt on the field enough to make an impact

Yeah, let’s spend a bunch of resources at critical positions and convert players into what they’ve never done well at a high level instead of actually spending resources to get players who have actually proven they can do that

Bohanna was 6-4, 327 at his Pro Day...

Hill played as a 3-4 NT at over 320 in his first 2 college seasons. He was a favorite of that coaching staff but the new HC refused to let Hill transfer with the original staff.

The new coaching staff in his final season wanted to make him into a Marinelli type 3-tech pass rushing DT that "plays the run on the way to the QB'.

You have typical fan emotional blinders. Fans love to hate certain players. Fans hated Hill because they didn't like the pick based an draft media rankings.

He has not done anything great, but he also has not been terrible on the field. He just hasn't been on the field much due to injuries.

Hill played 40% of snaps in the games that he played in 2021.

Bohanna played 24% of the snaps in the games that he played in 2021.
Oh ok, so I am a "typical fan emotional" basketcase. Lol.

No, i just watch the guy play and it is embarrassing. 2nd round pick. 2nd! I just watched it again to make sure I wasn't crazy, ya he was a non factor in the 49er game. How he got so many snaps and then watch Osa finally get in the game in the 2nd half more, it was night and day. Osa jumps off the tape at me...Trysten is a block magnet.

You are not changing my mind by pointing out the 40% of snaps that he played...it is actually making my point (i already knew this bc I always validate what I say). Hill...2nd round pick, makes no impact on the field, .5 sacks is his season high in 3 years....

Yeah, time to say bye-bye to this guy.

Wilson has been a solid player and the probability of Hooker missing time with injury issues is very high.
- Also they played 3 Safeties on about 40% of snaps in 2021.

Lewis is a veteran Nickel CB on a low cost contract and Kelvin Joseph might miss games with a suspension.

Hill maybe, but he was active for the playoff game and Bohanna was not.
- The media reported that Hill looked like the quickest and most powerful DT in the OTAs.

Ball is an unknown.
- They're going to carry 2 backup OTs.
- They would likely sign a veteran Swing Tackle before they cut Ball.
The media are a pack of imbeciles. I have no use for their underwear olympics reporting. They don't understand what they are watching.

There is 0 chance that Hill is the most powerful DT in OTA's. 0. Osa is absolutely stronger, Ridgeway is stronger, Galli is stronger (put on 20 lbs of muscle apparently and was already light years stronger)...etc.

Chauncey did a nice job rushing form inside in the Senior Bowl.

Mostly, position in the NFL is decided by skillset, not college position. Players positions are changed all the time going from college to the NFL.

Bohanna also had Covid the week (maybe two weeks?) before the playoff game and had to sit out. I think that's a big reason he wasn't active that day. May as well not use a spot on a developmental rookie who may be rusty coming off Covid in the biggest game of the year.

I don't think that has anything to do with his future here, though. There's a reason Jerry asked McCarthy (and/or Quinn) about taking Ridgeway when we already had Bohanna and MM said (paraphrasing), "We need them both, to rotate them... remember the playoff game."

Personally I hope Watkins is gone as I think he's pretty spare.

He'll be happy (and lucky) to be embracing any role on this team. He's a fringe player who is in a fight to be one of the (most likely only) 10 D-lineman they keep. The spots are filling up quickly and he needs to fight like he's 3rd in line for the arc and it's starting to rain. There are already at least 8 spots locked in and he isn't one of them:
Dlaw, Gallimore, Odiggy, Fowler, Armstrong, Ridgeway, Watkins, Williams

Basham, Hill, Bohanna and Golston are fighting for the last 2 spots.
i think that bohanna and hill are the odd men out they only play one position on the d-line. i think that the coaches will find every way possible to keep golston since he was third round pick.

Actually, many of Golston's best plays in college were when he lined up inside.

He averaged 2 sacks a season rushing from the interior and was ineffective against the run. Play the clips of him being blocked at the los and a ball betting tipped to him for an INT or someone else getting a sack and the ball rolling toward him when he was nowhere near the play. He also had 3 sacks from the interior against 1 team. Also had a sack of an interior twist that was meant for him to free up against Illinois.

I swear you on the Cowboys staff or media trying to sell us this crap

You were completely wrong in the other thread about Golston's sacks in college while playing DT.

I didn't list his sacks from the DE position when he rushed inside.
- At DE, he appeared to win more often when rushing inside than outside.

He does have better inside rush moves from the outside thats because he is not that explosive and didn't have much bend. Now he's gonna be more effective 20 lbs heavier?? I don't buy it
