Despite the fact that Collins has done exceedingly well at guard I think the best solution next season would be to put Leary back at LG (it was obvious he was still injured) and move Collins out to RT.

Unless I'm mistaken, Leary is a FA after this season. Very unlikely he resigns here.

Leary will be a FA. I doubt he will return.
Unless teams fear his degenerative knee condition, and we get him back fora cheap contract.
But best bet, Green will compete for RT with Free.

People are still saying this? Haha

I didn't see that at all from Tyron. He got beat once and that was on the sack. He did his job in the run game, but the Fins D-Line was cheating that way because they knew that is where we wanted to go. That's more on the playcalling because Fred-Martin-Free are out of position and can't reach the defender. We started to run towards the right side and that's when we started gaining big yards. But, our brilliant play calling said 'nah, let's go back to the left side...that will fool 'em!'

Free just can't put an entire game together. I thought he ran block well, but struggled against the speed rush. And Witten did not block well today at all.

Free struggles against speed rushers from time to time. That sloppy field didnt help either. MIami players are used to it. Big advantage. Free has many more good plays than bad plays. But the masses only remember the bad plays.

Leary will be back next year, starter or not. He is a Restricted Free Agent next year so his salary will be around 1.%MM unless another team is willing to give up a draft pick for signing him. Even as a quality backup, that will be a bargain - especially with Bern likely to leave as our top backup OG.

Also given Free's injury history, that could happen sooner rather than later.

Free has been awful for awhile now, like Carr, he's robbing us.

Carr is our best corner by a good margin.
Free played better today than people will admit. Carr and Free are the Cowboyszone whipping boys.

I love Byron Jones but you saw how the dolphin successfully attacked him today.
I don't see Carr giving up TDs yet people love ripping our best Corner because the FO gave him a large contract.

He's clearly the target for defenses. The Fins started to move Suh his way to try and take advantage. However, I agree...he wasn't as bad as people make out to be. Some of the sacks are on Romo. As far as the run defense, a large part of the problem is the play calling. You can't expect Free, Fred and Martin to be able to reach that much that quickly and get to the defender. If they are cheating that way, run the other way. Our Ivy League HC struggles to figure that out.

That was my observation with my friends as we watched the game; every first down was a run to the left side. I believe (dont quote me) they ran ONE play action on first down and it was successful. Very routine first down play calling, indeed... as far as my moderately inebriated mind can tell.

Every time someone misses an assignment or two it's time to replace them. Especially with an injured third round project. I think I saw Suh get past Martin once or twice. Who's the next guard in line? o_O

I sometimes wish they'd start Collins at RT so people can see defenders make him look stupid and we can end the position change talk once and for all.

He has the ceiling to be an all-pro guard in this league and has looked good/great at times in his limited games starting. Address the RT position by getting a quality one in FA or high in the draft. Don't rely on a guard or a ghost backup to take Free's spot in the coming years.

Collins is too much of a natural at OG to consider moving him. He has the physical talent to be among the best in short time. More experience and improving technically will likely put him in elite status.

Hopefully Green is now practicing. Gives him a chance to be a factor at starting RT next season.

I think you guys are being too hard on some of our players, and maybe not hard enough on some others... I see Carr catching hell on here all the time, and while agree that none of our CB's are play-making CB's, I also remember what it looked like around here when guys like Alan Ball were starting at CB... Carr isn't half as bad as some make him out to be... In my opinion, Smith hasn't been much better than Free this season... I've seen Tyron draw almost as many penalties, and whiff on his block about the same number of times...

Free and Carr are pretty far from being "awful" at their positions... Neither one of them would have any trouble finding another starting job if we cut them tomorrow... JJ Wilcox is an "awful" FS, but Brandon Carr and Doug Free are average at worst, and in the salary cap era, average is the best you can hope for at some positions...

I'm pretty sure this coaching staff values interior linemen more than tackles, as odd as that seems. As long as there is a pocket to step into, they are happy, so I can't imagine seeing Collins moving to Tackle.

I still think they drafted Martin with the intention of moving him outside, eventually, but he was just too good on the interior to do that.
