Does this team get anything out of Chaz Green this year? As a UF alum and having watched many UF games, Chaz was always good, but never seemed great.

Not as long as Free is healthy. I think Green is the guy next year.

Reason Chaz Green never seemed great at Florida is because he started at a different position literally every year. Wherever the team needed him. And he was the best or 2nd best lineman on every one of those teams (while playing that particular position for the first time).

If Green is capable (skill-wise) of being the guy next year, then that's an OK proposition.

He is healthy now. Now is his chance to take the RT position, but odds are good the best he will get this season is manning the swing tackle position.

With Green's injury history, I didn't like Dallas using a draft pick on him at all . It seems like his injuries will continue in the pros. This is another case of drafting injury problems . Injuries are bad enough, but drafting these players is no bargain, it is a headache .

If I can find the article I'll post it but I had read that he was possibly being moved to guard.

Yep, we love using these top picks on injured players. Works wonders. Look at all our Super Bowls in the last 20 years.

Why is that the best case?

The best case is he wins the job in camp and preseason over Doug Free and starts at RT. Then Doug Free becomes the back up swing tackle.

Believe this to be true.
There was a photo posted last couple of weeks of him working out, he has completely remade his body. From chubby huge guy when we drafted him, to now looks like huge in shape guy. We have to start getting some of these picks right ! I'm going to say Green will emerge this year, for no other reason than we need him to.
Isn't he - as a second year injured player, available to attend the rookie mini-camp this weekend ?
Maybe we will get a look at him.

I'm a fan of everything I've seen..

Problem is that he hasn't shown he can be dependable in college or the pro's as far as staying healthy.

Fully aware of Greens situation while at Florida. However, he was oft injured and never played up to his reputation. Granted, Florida's pathetic offense didn't help.

I think the real backup to Free in the event of a prolonged injury is Zach Martin, followed by La'el Collins.

Yeah, we shoulda never taken Sean Lee. What a bum.

And Green wasn't injured when he got here, so really, another strike.

Have to admit, I really was wanting Jeremy Langford when we selected Chaz Green last year. A bunch of us did. Water under the bridge now.

A year later, it's like getting an extra higher draft pick.
What a bonus if he ends up a real player.

Because apparently Garrett is already limiting competition and has stated he is fighting for the backup tackle spot.
