oh - preseason ... I'm with you now. That was the game where Dak, seeing his first ever NFL action, played the 1st half and went 10-12 for 139 yards and 2 TDs in and was only sacked once? I remember it now. It doesn't seem like the Rams had the crippling pass rush and party in the backfield you remember.

Guys...we played the Rams in 2016 at the Rams..IN PRESEASON. Go google that game...its the one where Dak and Dez lit it up. Its also the game where Chaz Green did his best bull fighter impression.

Luckily Dak has some wheels. Go look at the RT footage..It didn't matter where Chaz lined up. Rarely could he block his man. The commentators even were blown away.

Green played in 4 regular season games in 2016 and played very well, and you are talking about the first preseason game of the year in which a rookie QB had a huge first half throwing the ball behind the offensive line.

He didn't look like a terrible player in 2016. He did against Atlanta in 2017. So the question is, which is the fluke, or is the reality somewhere in the middle? The thing that makes me less worried if we keep him is that he would be 3rd string now instead of the first guy off the bench.

Chaz was horrible in 2016,in 2017 at various times, and IS NOW...Nothing has changed.

Which other games? I think people tend to make generalizations and or extrapolate based on individual moments. I think that's part of why so many dislike Jeff Heath so much - he had a bad rookie season under bad circumstances, and people project that onto every season and game he's played since. There is no question Green has had bad moments, and Atlanta was unbelievably bad last season, but that doesn't mean that can be extrapolated to apply to every game he's played. Obviously he is not going to look as good as Tyron Smith - almost anyone would show poorly in that comparison. But he has had good moments too, and when Smith had health problems in 2016 Green stepped in and did a good job. The team won 3 of the 4 games he played in, and Dak had the time needed to have strong, efficient passing days.
