Ish just got real. They shutdown the whole operation and just made it a generic page.

Since the NBA is losing so much money I have the opposite stance on this lockout than the NFL's lockout. But the way the NBA owners are talking is gross.

Might just be MLB, NHL, and NCAA for awhile.

In a week it will just redirect to the wnba website

Anyone take a bet for $100 that there is no 2011-2012 basketball season? First come, first served.

The NFL's labor dispute is going to look like a hiccup compared to the NBA's massive coronary following a few dozen broken bones from falling out of a moving vehicle on a highway. It's going to be nasty nasty nasty.

I wouldn't miss it.

Use to love it but the refereeing just got too much for me to handle this year (i know, it's about time).

I remember reading an article back in March that the nba is in a worse situation than the nfl and it isnt close.

The majority of teams are losing money. That is why the unions first offers were around $500M in givebacks. And they have too many franchises so they are pretty much up ****s creek. Either spend money to try and compete and be unprofitable. Or be cheap and also be unprofitable and dont matter.

That is why they are going to relocate 4 or 5 teams to Europe within 10 years and start a Euro division. They also have to get a team back in Seattle and the Kings in Las Vegas.

So yea, the NBA's situation is a mess.

Fine by me.

I'd be cool with no more basketball ever again after this year.

Dallas Mavericks, last championship team of the NBA, finishing the Texas trifecta of franchises to win an NBA title.

I could live with that.

I'll give you a week to reconsider, them I'll PM you.
I think it'll be another shortened season like the last time.

Fair enough.

I just read Wilbon's article on it that is post above. With the way the NHL sacrificed one full season to get a better all around business model in place and having owners from the NHL also owning NBA teams, I think they're willing to sacrifice 2011-2012 to retool the NBA as well.

A year without basketball would make me ecstatic. I don't get how people like that sport.
