What a bunch of crap. They only have one Cowboy in all 32 of the picks and that is Marc Colombo. No mention of D-ware but "lights out" steroid baby Merriman is there.

Best picks in the draft the last 10 years?? We didn't draft Columbo..

And any list that has Merriman and not Ware is garbage..unless it's a list of people who have taken steroids.

yea... and uh that Witten in the 3rd wasn't too shabby either considering he's the best TE in the NFL.

DeMarcus Ware goes number 1 if a redo of the 2005 draft takes place.

10. Mike Williams
11. DeMarcus Ware

Wow.

Ware is mentioned. They just didn't pick him over Ben Roethlisberger, who has two Super Bowl rings. Ware is one of the other three players mentioned at No. 11, along with Dwight Freeney and Patrick Willis.

Merriman has far less competition at No. 12. The only other players mentioned at that pick were Haloti Ngata and Ryan Clady. It's the same thing for Colombo at No. 29 — it's either him or Nick Mangold.

Wow.

I remember the chat that year. Everyone was going nuts thinking we were gonna get Mike Williams because there was NO WAY the Lions would draft another WR in the 1st round. :laugh1:

I was in that group I admit.

To my credit though I had no clue who Demarcus Ware was up until about a week before the draft.

I thought we would take Williams, Merriman, or Derrick Johnson that year.

For the record though I wasn't that Cowboy fan who cried over not taking Merriman over Ware.

They were neck and neck when Merriman was juicing and when he stopped Ware just flipped the lights out on that convo.

Do not feel bad, I wanted Mike Williams too. That's how bad our WR situation was at the time.

Although to my credit, I think I was the first Cowboy fan to notice Ware. I can remember making a thread over on the Cowboys forum on Scout about the guy after watching him playing against Mizzou that was on ESPN. IIRC, Troy pulled the upset that game and I can vividly remember DeMarcus absolutely manhandling the Mizzou line.

Never had a clue that guy I watched that very night would end up being this dominant a player for the Cowboys.

I was sssssooooo glad the Lions took Mike Williams. I didn't know want him. I felt receivers were overrated anyway. But even had he slipped, Parcells wouldn't have taken him. Jerry Jones, on the other hand ...:

actually their was he received honorable mention and its hard to beat out a two time super bowl winning qb

and if it makes you feel better Roy WIlliams (wr) got honorable mention too and they noted that Colombo was originally drafted by chicago but his injuries shut his relationship short and him signing here is the reason hes on that list

Hmm...well I'd say Carson Palmer is better...but that's not the point.

I guess I didn't realize it was the best pick at that spot, not the first round as a whole. My bad.
