That was done last year. There were a lot of "little" moves that brought in multiple 7th round picks. The result is we picked up a few potentially good players at the end of the draft this year. For the low price of giving up marginal-at-best players last year. If even one of those 7th rounders pan out (and I think Gardner and Dixon have a good shot), the team did well.

Agreed. I don't remember feeling this excited about our 7th round picks in a long time. Then again it could just be the post-draft excitement still lingering. But yeah, if even one of these 7th rounders turns into something I'd be ecstatic.

i like this sentiment, i agree im glad we are churning the roster and im glad we arent settling for what settles on the bottom. Positive threat, love it.

Better list Bishop or be on the look-out for Brain....that's his guy.

I think Gardner, Bishop, Dixon are pretty solid to make the team. Be interesting to see how the CB from Oregon does. Can't wait for camp to start.

gotta change your pic, since Martin is now #70.:)

I won't be surprised if 3 of the 7th rounders makes the final 53.

Hopefully we can "churn" Durant outta here if one of these young guys steps up. Holloman, Smith, Hitchens. I hope one of those 3 earns a starting spot this year at some point. I never thought much of Durant.

Hollomen has a great chance to start at SLB from everything I'm reading with Durant/Carter to battle for WLB. Rumors I'm sure but makes sense to me.

From the games I saw in the Coaches film, he played better than Carter - not opining on the relative comparison.

I guess people have a problem with Durant because he doesn't "wow" you on tape but or on Sundays.........but we can use as many linebackers as possible.

Yea, and I think there is something to be said for a guy who just goes out and does his job. Guys like him are pretty valuable to keep around, because you know he won't go in there and screw things up too badly if someone does get hurt.

You're 100% correct. I don't think you want a roster full of these guys but you do need guys who simply can be counted on and simply do their job. I think that's why the Cowboys probably value him more than the fans. I have nothing bad to say about Durant as a player.

Agreed.

Though I think if other players, like Holloman, Wilber, and Hitchens show that they can play, his value will inherently go down.

Agree. Also, he played really well at MLB but didn't last long before getting injured.

Nice to have to have some confirmation from someone who watches with a critical eye. I was kinda bummed when rumors of him being cut came out at beginning of FA. Durant played well, Selvie played well (but too many snaps) but that's not a shock.

LAst game I watched was the NO game. That was pretty brutal - need to watch the first Philly game to get a better taste

To be candid, it's not altogether too difficult to churn a roster when your roster has undergone a catastrophic downturn over time.

Nevertheless, there's still a just cause for rejoicing when something is being done before things become completely hopeless.
