Absolutely incredible from start to finish. Truly an epic piece of art in such an intense dark, emotional, and dare I say Ominous way. Jared Harris is winning an Emmy for sure. Probably Stellan Skarsgard as well.

Could not agree more, it was outstanding.

One of HBOs best projects.

They had a tidbit about this topic on their podcast.

I get that and by the 3rd episode, it seemed more normal, but it threw me off at first. The opening scene with the engineers in the control room had me confused, are they in Russia, is this a nuclear scare that happened in England, it was odd. I'm only 3 episodes in and I've adjusted more or less, until someone comes on screen with a crazy heavy Britt accent, like the coal miner foreman, it was like, woah, am I suddenly watching an episode of "Peaky Blinders"? They could have at least some of the actors tone down their accents a bit.

It's kinda like watching a Civil War movie set in the Deep South, but everybody has German accents. It would be weird to have General Robert E Lee sound more like Field Marshal Rommel.

Been a long time, it was a 2 episode special. Checked and IMDb says it aired in May 2010, they Hunted for Nessie and a Greenland shark.

I heard somebody else talking about this a few days ago. It sounds awesome and very much intrigues me. After seeing this thread I will definitely take the time to watch it.

Just finished watching this tonight and it was outstanding, one of the best shows I've watched in a long time.

On another forum in the UK that I post on there has been a discussion about this and a few people have visited the area. One lad posted photos and info from his trip on a website which I think some might enjoy reading.

I've watched the first 3 episodes and so far, it's been pretty good, but I didn't realize that Chernobyl was located in England. Or is there just an inordinately large population of English, Irish and Scots in Russia? It's a little weird to have so many with such heavy Brit accents when it's taking place in Russia.

Too funny. My wife wasn't interested but I was. She walked through the room while I was watching, heard the British accents and was like, didn't that happen in Russia? Great show overall though.
