2 sacks for Wimbley in the preseason.

0 for Carpenter or Lawson.

Not to say both can't improve and show some stuff later down the road, but you get the drift. I've already seen threads from respected Zone members talkin' about how Carpenter hasn't shown anything yet.

So for all you folks who were on board the Wimbley bandwagon (I joined very, very late, was all Lawson until the last week), the Zone salutes you. You should join the Cowboys as a consultant. ;)

Can't help but think of that one guy who always had that sig of Wimbley in peak physical shape and the line "good bye my love." Imagine how much catastrophe this defense would wreck with Ware and Wimbley, Canty and Spears for years to come. :)

I meant thumpity, thump~thump, chest-thumping threads

Bah. As much as we had to hear about Bobby Carpenter all offseason, I'm sure his fans can tolerate one thumpity-thump thread.

Let's evaluate these players fully in three years...

In the mean time... it's ok to follow them around and see how they do, but let's not call Carpenter a bust just yet...

We've only seen preseason thus far...

do I need to remind you that Wimbley had his share of fans? many were torn on who to root for, I'm sure his biggest supporters are following him just fine, while the rest of us are concerned w/ who's starting at LB for us

Give up picks to move up to #12 (Not just a 4th to move up there) to pick a guy that plays the same position as the guy we drafted at # 11 last year?

Okay.

Yeah hes alluding to my thread and thats not the point of it.

The fact hes coming along slowly does not translate to him sucking. Instant evaluations are pointless.

BTW Hatcher has 2 sacks this preseason therefore he should have been picked as a high first rounder, and is equal value to Wimbley!

If Wimbley had made it to No. 18 maybe we would have taken him, but we weren't going to give up draft picks to move up.

BTW, we didn't have a fourth-rounder until we traded back in the third round, and we would have had to give up a lot more than a fourth to move to Cleveland's spot.
