Well David, I consider you a good guy... but you were one of many that "went nuts" and proclaimed all sorts of accolades for this team. While some of us knew exactly what we were getting. A team with still too many flaws to be a contender... this year.
While many will mope about the failure of this season, I'll will rejoice because all in all it is a better team talent wise than what we've had around here in a long time. It's obviously not there yet, but it's getting close.
This team needs another strong offseason to "get there". The point where you and many others thought they would be this year.
Don't get too down David... there is progress.
I predicted 8-8 you can look it up
I predicted we would lose to the skins twice and the NYG twice...very close I was in the first NYG game...
and I said the reason would be Bledsoe and a young learning defense
and I am convinced that it still is
I am also convinced that with no one to run roughshod over Bill this team will never reach the pinnacle
Bill took a perenial 5-11 team with no talent and turned into a 10-6 team...
he than tore it down and turn it into a 6-10 team with a little more talent
and now we are somewhere around .500 with signifigantely more talent but in some of the most important areas we are not getting better just older...
If we rebuild an offense than that too is gonna require growing pains...
Bringing in Bledsoe was the biggest mistake this offseason I think...IF what I believe to be correct that the defense will be superbowl ready in another 2 years...the offense will not... a qb probably needs 3-4 years with plenty of game experience probably close to the same for a wideout and O-lineman...
we have Crayton and who... we need at least another 2 but better 3 Wr's
O-line we have Rob and Torrin and Al but Al is going in his 3rd year and doesn't look like he can be much more than a patch..the other 2 who knows
QB we have....what do we have...
this O is gonna need a lot of time at this pace
