If this was Lurie's decision I am shocked. If it's Chip leaving and they're just making it appear like a mutual or team thing, I am not surprised. He seems like the type of gutless weasel who would bail.

Perhaps, but it's hard to figure. The guy gets full control, makes a bunch of moves, then bails after less than a year? Doesn't make sense.

He took big risks that made no sense, he had to make the playoffs to satisfy those moves.

Somehow Garrett is still here though.

Well sure. It's not like Garrett's been given much control. That rests with the guy the owner/GM sees in the mirror every day.

There was something weird going on in Philly from day 1 this year....to many odd calls....to many outlandish player issues to think he really cared to win. Make no bones about it, Chip Kelley wrecked the Eagles to get fired and go back to College.....

Not shocked at all.....don't think his heart was ever into coaching in the NFL.... He left College cause Philly through crazy money at him and the NCAA was gonna levy fines on him and Oregon.... Now he is free to go back to College

Come on Texas Longhorns......step up and get real coach..

'Horns don't want his circus, either.

Wait, how did this happen? I thought Jimmy was advising him during the offseason? And Jimmy is never wrong.

I'm actually surprised they pulled the trigger and decided to hire him after one bad year. He had two 10 win seasons under his belt, that should have bought him another year.

The Eagles should have just stripped him of his personnel powers.

The problem I think comes from his blockbuster trade in FA spending spree like he was going all in.

Got rid of his three biggest playmakers and a QB that had an unbelievable 2013 season and thought he could replace all of that in a single offseason. I just didn't understand his decision making.

BTW, where are all of the media guys who were swinging from Kelly's jock all offseason? I hope some of them admit they were completely wrong, and that the guy they all tried to convince us was a genius was just another gimmick college coach. Somehow I doubt it.
