I don't know if any one else caught this, disecting the Wash Vs Giants game. Berman's comment on Brandon Jacobs run over Landry was at the least very distasteful. " Brandon Jacobs made Laron Landry look like Tom Landry." He gets away with this crap????

Yeah, that is not cool. In the end what does it matter, but why make a comment in such bad taste?

Lighten up boys. He just meant he made him look like an old man.

Geez. If it were any other coach, you'da thought it was funny.

I kinda thought "what the heck" when he said it but I think he was just caught in a moment and blurted something out.

IDK why you're upset over this. I'm pretty sure if Tom Landry tried to tackle Jacobs that is what it would look like.

Wasn't Landry a pretty fair DB before he went into coaching??

I think he was referring to Tom being dead. :bang2:

That didn't even cross my mind I think that is a stretch IMO. I highly doubt Berman would say something like that.

Why would he say "He made him look like Tom Landry" Break that down and tell me exactly what he meant? Tom Landry while he was a DB and a pretty good one, he isn't remembered as such. He is remembered as the Cowboys head coach. What exactly relates what happen to LaRon to the way Tom Landry looks?

Obviously none of us saw Tom Landry play, but you have to know a 26 y/o Tom Landry would have:

1) taken the correct angle of pursuit.
2) got his helmet lower and to the exterior of the ball carriers strong side.
3) hit
4) wrapped
5) pulled to the ground.

I mean, seriously, anyone who watched him coach would know his technique would be flawless.

After 26 years of ESPN, I'm starting to think Bermen isn't a Cowboys fan.

Okay.

Watching and listening to ESPN'S post game show, Berman sounded like he had a few too many drinks at dinner. He was slurring his speech and at times not making sense. I should say more so than normal.

Yeah he irks me a touch, ill-advised comment notwithstanding.

I saw just a piece of the pregame and I can't remember off the top of my head the topic, but whoever or whatever it was (team or player), the panel was panning it, and Berman tried to initially defend the person/team, then Ditka kind of half-blasted him with a "get real" type comment/look. Berman quickly came back with a "that's why they play the games..." and moved to the next segmanet.

He looked pretty idiotic in that moment and I loved it.

Tom Landry would have knocked B Jacobs on his ***.
