I am watching it now. NO ONE. and I mean NO ONE is even discussing that Hitchens facemaks was grabbed. No one....and I mean NO ONE is talking about what a horribly thrown ball that was to a guy that was not even open. Pettigrew had NO CHANCE based on where that ball was thrown...the ball needed to be higher to give Pettigrew a chance AND to give the ref a chance to throw a flag!

Exactly! The defender it's entitled to his space as long as he doesn't contact the receiver to get there. The receiver is not entitled to move into a space the defender is occupying. I was screaming when the flag came out and in disbelief when they picked it up and got it right.

Well, it really is all true.

the refs messed up throwing the flag and made it worse by actually announcing the penalty before discussing it.

It was face-guarding (legal) and not PI and for sure Pettigrew DID grab his facemask...which btw, does make it kind of hard to turn your head even if you planned on it.

I disagree. Poorly thrown ball that hit Hitchens in the back. Also, the TE grabs the facemask of Hitchens and pulls towards him. Here is the video proof below. Explain to me why it is ok for Petigrew to grab his facemask like that?

At the end of the day this is correct. There was no PI but the refs handled it poorly. They should have gotten on the same page first and then reversed the call. They didn't and that is what is making the conspirtards/cowboy haters go crazy. Still, the refs ended up making the correct call.
