It also means more opportunities (only 9 more....but still). But he's very good. Just not Witten good, yet. He's going to have to prove he can play more of the TE role first before he gets in that class.

yea SP, thats why i said borderline pro bowl. Hes not there, yet. Hopefully saunders can do with cooley what he did with Tony G. :crossed: (pretend thats a Commanders icon with the crossed fingers)

Honestly, the extent to which I hate the Commanders is fairly remarkable. It is a neverending cesspool of welling fury.

Just thought I'd get that out of the way. :)

Biz i agree with you. Ive seen a lot of cowboy fans saying Cooley isnt that good and his #s are inflated because he was the #2 option. Well if the same thing happened with witten 2 years ago like you said why are cooleys accomplishments less awesome (ha had to use that word)

Ahhh....Cooley's a good player.....Like I said, sometimes it seems like Skins fans want to downplay any good player we have.

Well, Tony G. busted out well before Saunders arrived, and he's more athletic than either Witten or Cooley. I just want to see how Cooley handles more vertical routes. So many of his receptions (30%, to be exact) came behind the line of scrimmage last season. Tony G was only caught 13% behind the LOS. And, Tony G. caught nearly 40% of his passes when the ball was thrown more than 10 yards in the air. Only 18% of Cooley's were thrown more than 10 yards.

That's the adjustment I see needing to take place. And it's gona be real important in Saunders offense - whether or not Cooley can stretch the seams and get that separation. That's been the knock on him - he's got alot to prove.

SP, i dont know where you go those stats. but i believe you from watching him play for the past 2 years. I'm confident Cooley will be able to make the adjustment and he has voiced his desire to stretch the field as well.

Just check out the splits on ESPN or NFL.com's player profiles. Easy enough to find. I don't see the TE screen being a huge part of Saunders offense. Cooley's strong enough, but is he quick enough? In any case, his ability to find the open areas will serve him well in the intermediate routes. It's those seam routes that Tony G. runs so well that I wonder about.

Keep in mind also (I know Saunders has come to town, and that means the Skins will automatically be the #1 offense ;) ) that in Saunders first year in KC the offense wasn't that hot, despite most of their pieces being there already. The transition might be easier considering the similarities in systems, but I don't think KC's system pre-Saunders was all that different either.

TE screen wasnt a big part of Gibb's offense either, but i see what youre saying. Cooleys best attributes have been his ability to find the open areas in the middle and has great hands as well. Haha yeah i knew about KC;s first year with saunders as their coordinator and i just hope it wont take long here either. Dont forget SP.....Joe Gibbs + Greg Williams + Al Saunders = Miami Bound!!

As a skins fan, I dont care if he does a reverse mohawk, so long as he produces like last season.

Also, right now, he's shaved. he plans on growing it into a .... you guessed it

a Mullet.

I haven't forgot.

You guys (and by "you guys" I of course mean the pack of retards that show up every few weeks determined to get us to realize how much better the Commanders are than anyone) won't let us forget.

Dunno.

I thought it was kind of cool.

And this new Commanders troll has kids? I have never been in favor of the government saying what can/cannot go on in a person's personal life (re: gay marriage)...but this new troll may have just changed my mine....some people should not be allowed to produce offspring.

Cooley's hair is crazy, he is def a goofball, but I had the chance to meet him, a super nice guy. During the Skins Ravens scrimmage he wore a black collar shirt underneath his jersey. Funny guy.

in case the table doesnt post clearly, in 2001, saunders first year, it looks like the chefs were 6th in passing, 6th in rushing, 4th in rushing TD's, and 4th in total O.

also, as far as the pieces already being in place, that was trent greens and priest holmes first year there.
