I like Chris Johnson, but you'd have to be clinically insane to think he's a between the tackles bruiser like MB3.

In all reality, I could live with Johnson at #28. I think he'd be a good receiver out of the backfield and could be utilized like Reggie Bush. To compare him to a Pro Bowler like MB3 without playing a single game is a bit rushed, however.

I'll take Dmac, Mendenhall and Stewart over him though.

Chris Johnson is much more physical than people give him credit for. He runs tough between the tackles, has the vision and cutting ability to find holes, has the strength and balance to break tackles and has more than enough burst to break through the line. Heck his stiff arm is pretty good from what I have seen as well.

Add to that his soft hands and route running ability and the guy is a phenomenal back.

If all you think he has is 4.24 speed then you don't know what youre talking about.

I like Ray Rice too and i would be happy as a clam to see either one wear the star this year.

Exactly. Too many brews while watching college basketball.

Beware of people that do not do their research and realize that CJ had 1400 yards on 6 YPC to go along with 528 rec yards on over 14 yard per reception last year.

No offense, but have you seen more of him than just highlight videos?

Even in those, his cutting ability doesn't shine through. From what I've noticed he pitter-pats (or chop steps) into cuts, having to gather himself, instead of planting and making a sharp, decisive cut. (That's the only knock I have against him from the highlights I've seen.)

Noen taken and I havent watched any ECU games so no but he doesnt lose speed when he cuts.

i think your talking about the move he makes where he fakes into the defender then cuts. It looks more like a hesitation move then a true cut to me.

this is a clip of Emmitt and he does that in a few of these runs where hell run up into the defender to freeze them then cut.

CJ doesnt do that in the open field.

Now one thing that Emmit did in those runs that I havent seen CJ do is lower the shoulder and try to plow through the defnder. That is what Barber does and CJ isnt Barber.

Heck Barry Sanders does it every other run in these clips.

Now dont get me wrong I am not saying that CJ can hold either of these guys jocks. Im just pointing out that the greatest runners of all time did the same thing on some of their runs to elude the defender.

Chris Johnson is 2nd round talent, and if we make it to the 2nd round w/o a RB, I'd take Ray Rice over CJ. I watched Rice in a game this year on ESPN and couldn't believe how good he looked. I remember thinking that if D-Mac went somewhere else that this guy would be my next choice. Chris Johnson had that great game against Memphis and fast 40 time and now he looks like a hot prospect. Look at the productivity of Rice against Johnson over their college careers. Rice has been a workhorse for Rutgers for more than just this year.
