Chris Jones Out Multiple Weeks

They mentioned something about him being hurt during the game Sunday night. That was the first I had heard of it.

We will see if the new guy has any trouble holding for FGs. The criticism Jones gets for punting is way overblown...just because they don't see him booting punts 50+ yards every time. There's more to punting than simply distance. Jones is a hang-time/directional punter - his job is to make sure that he angles punts to give the coverage team enough time to get down the field and limit returns. He is near the top of the league for punters with the least amount of return yards allowed so he's doing his job.

I know everyone wants a guy like Johnny Hekker but sometimes you can outkick your coverage and allow a big return...the Dolphins returned one for a TD vs. the Rams this past week.

I appreciate the work he does on holds but he's been battling injuries for two years now. His punting last year was poor. They should have had competition in camp this year.

Problem is he is paid like a top 10 punter that is consistently near the bottom

Yes!! Super Bowl...maybe not kidding. He was horrendous

Confirmed by the Fan. Core muscle surgery.

Broaddus hinted at this when he was doing the autopsy after the Philly game. Been playing hurt for awhile now.

This was the problem with not bringing in any competition for his spot. Jones was hurt last year and his punting has been declining for a couple of years. Just assuming it was going to get better or he was is a terrible way to handle the position.
