I think the thing with Hardy is he will want a multi-year deal and that's hard for Dallas to do given their experience with him.

I like the player but don't like the person so much.

If he could just settle down and play football and not get involved with the personal issues..he could be a Reggie White type player.

But it seems he is having emotional issues and that is the long term problem.

I think we sign him given the state of the defense as trying to fill another piece on the defense is just going to set us back further.

If we are still going to roll the dice on Romo and try to win now..

you don't just let Hardy walk.

The answer regarding Hardy is quite simple: talk to the team captains.

If they tell you that Hardy' behavior was no big deal in the locker room and they have no problems keeping him, then bring him in.

If, on the other hand, those captains tell you that Hardy was a major distraction and they don't want him back, let him walk.

That's what captains are for.

The longer Hardy sits out there the more likely it is he comes back to Dallas imo.

I have felt that way for while now. My guess is its incentive based against but more likely max 10 mill for year instead of $13 mill potential last year.

Along those lines..

Didn't Witten at one point say good thimgs about Hardy?

I don't remember Lee saying anything.

So I don't know.

And Garrett had his talks but I wonder how much of that wasn't really coach Jerrah sending Garrett in to speak for him.

Talk to the head coach. If the ahead coach doesn't want him than he shouldn't be here. The inmates don't run the asylum.

Hey Golden, our Cowboys still have a mark or two to be made...

I hope we get Long on a cheap deal like 2 year $6 mil with incentives. I wouldn't go over 4 mil per year.

Look at the production. A hand full of sacks says he isn't even worth half the consideration he gets from some of the posters here.

Nobody went to bat for George Selvie the way they have for Hardy and Selvie didn't have baggage. The eternal hope of "maybe" he'll produce springs forth time and time again.

I would settle for Long and Thornton as the two defensive end additions...going into the draft.

I'd also like the Cowboys to look at Robert Ayers. He had 9.5 sacks last season, if I'm not mistaken.

Am I missing something? I thought this guy was a total distraction in the locker room. And I didn't imagine Garrett's cold demeanor when he was asked about the guy, that was real. So what gives? Have I missed news?

Hardy may want a multi-year deal but he's at the mercy of the market and right now the market is softer than pudding for him.

I think he'll be better this year than last year. So in the perfect scenario, the team really wants him back but know the market is really soft and are letting him stew a few days before making another fairly team friendly deal with him.

That's my dream but I suspect reality is the team just has had enough of dealing with him.

Ive never been a huge fan, he did have a good 2015, but that was the exception, not the rule.

And what does it say when the Giants make little or no effort to keep him while backing up a Brinks truck for the other two guys?

Besides, I'm sure that someone else will be able and willing to spend on him while we won't.

Per Trey Wingo, Long has a visit set up with Atlanta.

I have no idea why he would want to compete with Adrian Clayborn, just sounds like a losing battle. But whatever.
