And he won't ever see the field. Zeke isn't coming off the field 1st and 2nd down because he's a better runner. Beasley is one of the best slot players in the NFL so he isn't coming off the field either. He's a 3rd down RB at best here and the Cowboys don't use the RB in the passing game much anyways. Zeke is damn good himself in the receiving game as is.

He needs to go to a team who can get creative and get him the ball where he wins. A pass first offense most likely. That's not this offense. Not to mention the Cowboys have much bigger holes to fill with the 28th pick than a 3rd down RB. I simply don't see where he ever gets the snaps needed here to be worth the pick. He's a nice player, but I just don't see the fit.
But most of this board loves that BPA nonsense. They should be fine with it

Ah yes, the great white hope.

He'll bust as a starter, then get released, then go to the patriots who will use him as a receiver out of the backfield in spot duty and have a decent career... If he doesn't get injured starting for whatever team tries that.
Somebody needs to sticky this

Other than skin color, please tell us how this guy compares to other white RBs entering the NFL from power conferences. Feel free to use all tangible data--production, measureables, etc-- aside from skin color.
Good grief

I would argue that if you look at his stats, all around production, and add in his combine performance, he looks like a mid 1st to early 2nd round player.

Lol
I do agree that he'd fit well in the Patriots system too though.

The guys a baller in my eyes whether he's white , black , red, whatever. You add the fact that he's a pro offspring you know that his heads in the right place and he'll be a contributor on any team day one. I don't buy into the not on day one nonsense. If he's on the board your looking at lower tier defensive players vs him it's a no brainer. I'd be willing to bet that he is better at his position than just about everyone available to us at our pick but we'll have to wait and see.

BPA is how we drafted Martin, Frederick and Smith. It is also how the Packers ended up with Rogers when it already had Fabre. BPA works. You just have to follow it.

Drafting for need is almost always a fail: see Carver, Shante and Euban, Ebeneezer.

If a team uses him like Reid used Westbrook, sure. I just don't think he will make it as a runner between the tackles. I see him having a career similar to Ryan Mathews
They said alot of the same things about Warrick Dunn

Mixon could go in the 2nd and will be long gone in the 3rd.

Talent wise he is a first rounder, but he is still radioactive. That tape is a real bad look to the average NFL owner. Implies they are OK with violence against woman.

!st round talent at a discount. The Cowboys could take him with pick 60. People will eventually forget and make excuses once the tds start coming in.

Most don't really understand it. In a vacuum bpa is a great idea. In reality, it's never that simple.
People just dont understand how the Cowboys scout. They go off there board, but they scout players based on fit within the organization and they tend to really bracket positions in each round. The visits arent a 100% veiw of how they scout, but it is a look at how tbey bracket positions each round. Usually 2 to 3 positions with multiple visits and a couple rando's. Sometimes we draft the guys at the position. Sometimes we draft the rando's. Sometimes its a guy who we didnt bring in

There are some on this forum that simply cannot comprehend this.
