Chuck Howley Hall of Fame Induction

This is a good day. Cowboy great Chuck Howley is at last enshrined in the Hall of Fame and he belongs there. Bob Lilly's fine presentation of a team mate was so fitting, too.

It was a privilege to watch #54 play, he was special and such an unforgettable player.

It's sad that it took so long that he couldn't be there due to health reasons. His accolades hold up against any other player in the HOF. There's no good reason for it taking this long.

It’s unfortunate he didn’t have the health to attend.

His son gave the acceptance speech for him. He noted toward the end of the speech that his dad could not make the trip with them. Damn shame that.
But I loved seeing Bob Lilly there to represent him. My heroes have always been Cowboys and Chuck Howley was one of the greatest.

Howley is in the late stages of dementia. It would be wonderful if he can celebrate this singular honor on a personal level, no matter how briefly that might be.

When Coach Landry switched Howley to WeakSide LB and put Dave Edwards at Strong Side LB the Cowboys Flex Defense began its legacy of outstanding play.The Athleticism that Chuck brought to that Defense was vital to how good they were.The best LB in Dallas Cowboys History.

My hero. My favorite Cowboys on that D back in the day. They had Lilly, Renfro, Jordan, Green and others but number 54 was my main man. Sweet to see him in the HOF. Bitter that he could not appreciate it to the fullest.
