Churning the 2008 roster

looks like we may get 3 good draft picks this year assuming we keep both firsts and our second...add that to the current mix and we are overstocked...
we have too many players from last year that have to be accounted for-
so, crystal balling, who makes the roster next year from this group ?(some may be traded, probably to BP)
Nathan Jones, JuJo, Reeves, Carp, Canty, Fergy, CBrown, ABall, Oglesby, KDavis, Spears, Canty,Hoyte, Thompson, Berger, Flo

Out of all the players you mentioned in your post, the only one I can guarantee will be on next year's roster is Canty. He will be resigned. Book it. Not sure about the rest. Hopefully we can resign Flo for a reasonable amount of $. Spears will most likely return, but could be traded. Same for Carpenter. Even though he struggled at times, I'd like to keep Reeves as a 4th or 5th corner. I think that depends on how the coaching staff thinks Ball has progressed or will progress. As for the rest, who cares.

I forgot about Ferguson. I'd like to see him back, but that depends on how the staff wants to play Ratliff. We don't need 3 at the nose: Ferguson, Ratliff, and Tank. I'd like to see Ratliff at DE, where he belongs. However, we seem to have a bit of a log jam on the D line. Not a bad thing really. I'm just not sure we'll keep 7 on the DL (Bowen, Canty, Spears, Ratliff, Ferguson, Tank, Hatcher). We're in really good shape on the DL.

I also have a bit of a feeling that Ferguson might get traded to Parcells in Miami.

Anyone know off-hand if the Dolphins have two 2nd rounders this year?

I think we'll have 2 like 2007, but he won't be one of them. He's simply too one dimensional for Garrett to fully utilize.

Actually I was speculating that they might trade one for a Spears/Ferguson combination to help solidify their front 7.

But since they only have one and a boatload of needs, that's probably out.....

Agreed on the above and would add as posibilities, Oglesvie, Miles, Hurd, Ball, Berger. I hope we improve our talent at CB and WR to make these guys expendable.

I seriously considered all those names. Ultimately I kept them off just because I think there will be minimal turnover from 2007.

As much as I like Schmitt, a guy like Hillis could also make a lot of sense as Hillis has very good receiving skills. He could add another dimension to the offense - and also be used as a H-Back.
