His pro day today will be interesting, curious to see how he tests.

I think it’s all but guaranteed he’ll be one of our 1st round picks. The coaching staff at the pro day will tell us a lot

Huge fan...but see him as a top 50 guy and not a top 20 guy. If I had to bet though the Cowboys are going to draft for need and he will be a top target at 20 which would be dissapointing.

Also - friendly reminder before fans start losing their minds about pro day 40s that you should add .05-.08 for a more realistic 40 time. (Not directed at you)

I’m comfortable with taking Allen at 20 depending on how the board falls. I just think in most stocked drafts he’d probably be a Top 30/40 player (ie. a second round prospect). I question/skeptical if he’s really a 3-down player but do recognize his ability in the run and screen game which is needed.

I have no idea who it will be but I'm sure he's on the short list.

I swear he injured his knee in a game, not sure if he is healthy.

He’s an old school thumper, does his job, not flashy. He doesn’t jump off the tape with splash plays but he’s reliable and you know he’ll do his job. Question marks in coverage, but I can’t see him lasting until 50. I think we could do worse at 20, wouldn’t mind it. I also don’t expect him to test all that well

If I am taking an off ball LBr in the 1st, especially in the top 20 dude better just about walk on water.

Plus athlete, 3 down player and monster production.

Again, I am a big fan but I am not sure he checks any of those boxes.

They say late first rounder grade. No problem taking him at 20 or moving back a couple of picks and getting him.

CJ Allen is a walk in starter on this defense. If we get him at 20 I am fine with that. He probably walks on the team as the best ILB. But if we trade down and try to get a 2nd or 3rd round I am fine with Anthony Hill Jr or even Jacob Rodriguez in the late second or 3rd, if CJ Allen is gone (assuming Sonny Styles doesn't drop to 12).

I don't see how you can take Allen first round now. If he is healthy and refused to test entirely, you have to assume the worst about his measurables

Given the current LB room, not exactly a ringing endorsement.
Says a lot about whole D and how poorly they played. 2 plays that stick out for me is the Denver running back going 60 yards and not one person even touched his jersey and the other play against the bears on the flea flicker and center sent the ball over 8 feet in the air and QB still came down with ball and throw a strike to the WR with DB 20 yards behind him.

He ran no times at his pro-day either. That is kind of a red flag. He must be pretty slow. Like 4.7 or worst. Might have dropped him into round 2 but tape don't lie.

I'm seeing many mocks with the Cowboys drafting a CB at 12. I sure hope they go for an edge and LB with those first two picks and NOT a CB.
