Signed by Cowboys CJ Goodwin signed to a one-year deal

Well, with all this talk about change, I guess it didn't mean that we'd finally not use a roster spot on Goodwin. Great special teams player, though.

This just means we get to complain when we are forced to cut this years Justin Rogers in order to keep Goodwin on the roster.

Rogers spent almost the entire season on the Bengals practice squad. We signed him off their practice squad at the end of the season and stashed him on the inactive list!
Basically we let them develop him for us for 3 1/2 months. Hopefully after a year in an NFL weight training program he has the strength to contribute at this level!

The guy has truly carved himself out a decent NFL career by being the best gunner he could be.
No more.
No less.
I don't know enough about special teams advanced metrics to say if a new draft pick would be a better investment at his spot. So I'll let the experts here discuss the pros and cons of the continued investment in him.
