He was the top defensive player I wanted... had no idea he was on our board in any way...

Excellent pick... yes he cost us a lot, but he is flat out bluechip material...

Liquor Store Guy was right... Jenkins is gone...

I wonder if Liquor Store guy gets a job at ESPN for this one.

I agree, thrilled with the pick, never thought we would have a chance, Morris is high character and excellent skill level!

With what we have now....

Teams have to actually think before just throwing it up, knowing Newman, ball, walker ect...will just act a fool

Thrilled with the pick, wish we didn't pay so much. But we now have 3 legit starting nfl corners.

We had Jenkins, and now we got the best corner available in free agency, and the best corner available in the draft.

We certainly took upgrading the secondary seriously. Try and make a weakness a strength.

How much exactly did they pay? I thought it was only a 2nd round pick.

Man ESPN sure likes the pick. Kurt Warner says we did the best FWIW.:)

it sucks not having a second (which i believe we will recoup somehow or another) but giving up a mid 2nd rounder to move from 14th to 6th overall is a bargain

All I know is after the pick I drove to five liquor stores trying to find the guy to get some day two info.

I spent 151.23 on booze and now have a DUI.

I think the DMN is cheaper.

I think this was a deep enough draft that a 2nd rounder was a lot more valuable.

I liked the combinations of guys we could have got at 14 in addition to our 2nd.

I'm not complaining, but I'd like to get back into the 2nd round somehow.

C'mon now, Twodeep, tell us you're happy...:)

Two bluechip cornerbacks added to the secondary this off season. What more can someone wish for?

I wanted this guy way back, started a few threads about him.

Gave up hope when we were at 14 with all the talk.

Secretive at Valley Ranch! I'm blown away. Mark my words - Mo Claiborne will be among the best guys to patrol the defensive backfield in our history.

First it was Dez Bryant. But now this guy?

C'mon. You're kidding me. Dallas drafting future star players?

No way.

:laugh2:

FRIGGIN' GREAT DAY!

BTW, I think Jenkins' play is contingent on this year and what he may be willing to "settle for", but we won't be stuck to someone whose current value doe not dictates their future price. I like to think we pay players for how they're playing now. And there was no reason to have confidence in Jenkins' future.

I like the move for Morris Claiborne. The Cowboys nabbed a blue-chip player, and this draft only had 6 blue-chip players. Claiborne is the best defensive player in the draft. You can't rebuild the defense in one year, and the Cowboys clearly wanted to work on the secondary first.

I thought the Cowboys would be aggressive at some point in this draft, and I'm not surprised one bit that Dallas took a CB in round 1. I just thought that player would be Dre Kirkpatrick if Dallas went in that direction.

It's hard not to be excited about a player as talented as Claiborne. I'm looking forward to watching him play for the Cowboys.

I'm not doubting Claiborne's talent. I like the player - I don't like the trade.

Man, I hope you're right. All we had to do is trade a 2nd round pick.. a bit costly. But at least we didn't have to go through a season with the #28th ranked record.

This board's server would overload.

In our situation it worked out for both teams. Only time will tell who got Hershel Walkered on the deal.

Funny, I never thought I'd use someone's name as a verb. But you guys know me. I love nothing more than giving my Minnesotan, yankee friend a hard time about our rich history.

LOL
