Twitter: Clarence Hill: Anthony Barr is an option for the Cowboys per source

Another guy for Sam Williams to have to climb past?

Progress stopper.

Better shot at Williams being something special vs Barr being the answer to our problems.

No surprise but what's the "right" price.

Would be good for depth, just a quick look at the LB depth and we should be easily entertaining all candidates.
We can redshirt Clark, so anyone sold on Gifford maintaining the roster spot?

Stephen might be interested in Barr but being "interested' isn't what makes a signing happen. ;)

Unfortunately, Stephen is seldom inclined to allow his interest to interfere with his miserly habits.

Don't get me wrong, I'd actually enjoy seeing someone of his ilk sign with this team but I doubt it.

Rather start a rookie, Barr is 34 maybe?! Give me youth and craziness as far as I’m concerned.

1. "Progress stopper" I suppose makes some sense in theory, but a serious candidate for a job goes out and wins the job no matter who's in front of him. Progress is earned. And if the so-called progress-stopper is well paid, in the NFL, there's even the opportunity to cut that guy and escape some part of the salary... vis-a-vis, that much more incentive to let progress occur.

2. Would love to get Barr, but there are higher priorities, imo... safety net O-lineman (I don't trust 21 year-olds unless they come into the league with Tyron's scouting report) and temporary starter at WR (James Washington doesn't come to Dallas with starter-quality stats, but worse, he comes to Dallas in statistical freefall... we're not okay there, at least until Gallup returns.).

If a vet is on the roster for game 1 then he can ask for his whole years salary if cut during the season. (they can do this once I believe)

They would get LVE and Barr for a lot less than what Wagner got.

What's a lot less? Over the next 3 years Wagner gets 26.5M. With a 2 million dead cap if they release him afterwards. That's just under 9M per.
