why was it necessary for season ending list? will he not be healthy in 4 weeks?

so, it is possible he could play for us this season?

IR...Injury settlement...wait 6 weeks...bring him back?

Someone would need to correct my thought here, but I think by doing that it would open up the possibility of Bass being signed by another team in the meantime. And that's probably not what the Cowboys are interested in.

Everything I read on twitter that the injury was worse than thought. Kinda got the feeling that 4 weeks was being optimistic.

Yeah, you wouldn't cut Bass, someone else would grab him. But he hasn't been put on IR yet. That is happening today.

Let's not overrate the guy.

He wasn't thought of highly enough to be drafted in 2012. And has now been placed on IR both seasons the guy has tried to play professional football.

Someone else claiming him? Unlikely.

Being afraid to lose the guy would be like being afraid of losing Tanney.

Eatman said it is just to free up a roster spot for his replacement.

The Cowboys are expected to place Bass on injured reserve Saturday, just two days after he suffered a dislocated left shoulder late in Thursday’s practice. Bass was expected to enter the season as a key rotational player on the line, giving depth at tackle and end.

While the initial prognosis was just a 2-4 week setback, Bass did have an MRI on Friday. However, the decision to put Bass on IR comes down to needing his roster spot now.

I doubt a team would pick him up given that he would not be able to play for at least 4 weeks. moreover, he is a backup tackle.

i think it's unlikely he would get claimed. he is also not the type of player you would put on temp ir list. you only get one and you save that for a starter who is injured for a few weeks to save a roster spot. you could do an injury settlemnt and release him just to sign him back but my understanding is the time of the inury settlment plus six weeks. a player is not going to settle for less than he would get otherwise so say his injury is just 4 weeks then add six on that, atleast thats the way i understand it. it's very rarely even used

He's a young 3 technique pass rusher. Someone else would pick him up. They could IR him or wait until he's healthy because other teams could sign him before the Cowboys could. Bill Nagy got picked up last year by Detroit.

Clarification on why everyone and their brother has Rowdy as their avatar? Is this some sort of new religion or something?

I'm guessing it's the default in an effort to get the bums to get something else.

Given that the team believes in its playoff chances enough to get themselves a real RG to shore up the OL it would be illogical, a crime even, to not commit to a new DT to shore up the DL. I'm hoping their plan is to snatch up a DT after the first game,,, Richard Seymour maybe?

We haven't heard any post-MRI injury reports. Likely, as WG noted the injury was worse than iinitially thought
