ESPN's John Clayton reports that the "early word" is New York won't trade up for Matt Leinart.

Trading up at the top of a draft does go against usual Belichickian philosophy, which the new Jets regime figures to follow. Clayton further reports the team may prefer D'Brickashaw Ferguson, which makes sense to us.

That puts Lienhart going #3 to reunite with Chow book it

Bush #1

Either Fergson or Williams #2 my guess is ferguson

So the Jets take Vince; cutler or who is left over from Williams and the brick

Why would the Titans choose Vince Young but the Jets wouldn't? Very strange if you ask me. Both the Jets and Titans are in desperate need of franchise QB's. Two are apparently available-- so why is the debate about New York trading up for Lienert but not once mentioning Vince Young?

I still think Leinart is going #2. The Saints won't sit there and pick Hawk, D'Brick, or Williams considering the HUUUUUUUGGGGGEEEE disparity in draft value between the 2nd and 5th picks. They'll be very willing to trade down and this is just be posturing right now among the teams. Someone is going to trade into the #2 spot for Leinart. My money's still on the Jets.

That would be safe to say. Does that clown ever get anything right? Well I mean he does, but that is seldom and rare.

If I am Nawlins I take Mario Williams at #2 and get my OT in round 2. There will be better OTs at the top of round 2 than DEs most likely.

Would you actually take Williams at #2 instead of trading down?

If a team isn't willing to come up for Leinart, you betcha.

Or AJ Hawk.

Someone is obviously going to make an offer. The question is how much do you value that pick? Between 2nd and 10th its worth 900 pts...but would you accept a 10th and 42nd pick (leaving NO left with 400 pts down the drain) or do you require more?

ridiculous...read up a bit...Leinart does not have a cannon for an arm, but he has an above average arm. Pennington has a below average arm.

silver, you made yourself look bad with that statement. Maybe had you picked someone besides Noodle Arm Pennington.

Anyway:
I don't know what the Jets will do but I agree with Hos about NO's options. If no one will pony up a fat deal for the #2 spot I'd go with Williams. And yes I'd go with him over D'Brick or Hawk...granted any of the three would be good value at the spot but I think Williams is farther ahead of the rest at his position than D'Brick or Hawk are ahead of the rest of their positions. They still have a great shot at someone like Eric Winston in the 2nd round for their OT. And there are a number of very good LB's who they might get in the third picking at the top of the round; this draft seems pretty deep in at LB.

We will see. I do not believe Vince Young will go that early. I believe that Sean Payton will keep his #2 pick to start building his OL or DL, he has his
QB. The Titans are going with Lienart all the way, if any of you were an offensive coordinator and you had a QB for two years and you won the championship two years straight, then you move up to the NFL, and you had the chance to get that QB that you had in college, who already knows your system inside and out, plus your organization is positioning itself to get rid of the Vet QB either after one season, or before this season. What would you do?

I would go with the QB that I had won with, he knows my system inside and out, and whether we go with the old Vet one more season or just start out with the rookie, who has a good leg up because he knows the system already, he just needs the experience of playing against NFL defensive schemes every week.

I do not believe the Titans will draft VY, not with Chow and Fischer's USC connection, and Chow and Leinart's relationship.

VY, may go to Zona, but that would be a dumb move by Green, he needs to win now, but since he already messed up by letting McCown go and keeping washed up whatever his name is, (his name escapes me now). Green has to win now, and if he drafts VY, and he gets canned, the person who replaces him will certainly rush VY and that will be a major mistake, for the team, that new coach and VY's career.

If Oakland gets him it will be a mistake and will only hasten Norv's departure from Oakland.

Any team that needs to win now cannot not or should not draft VY, he will be a major project, and the coaches of that team will not have the time to wait on him.

But if they move him to WR, they will have instant success, and he will be an instant impact.
Just my opinion.
